LOL – Repeal JesusCare !!

by on Jan. 13, 2012, under Bigotry, Catholic, Christian, GLBT, militarism, Nativism, Republican, santorum

According to National Republican Radio, the christian bigwigs are meeting again

in Texas to try again to coalesce around a single candidate to run against cult

follower Romney.

They reported – with a straight face – that Jesus Christ wasn’t running and so they

needed to compromise, although little Frothy claimed that he was the pro-Jesus

candidate.

(Unfortunately for him, some of the bigwigs consider Catholicism a cult).

I admit that this brought to mind the vision of Jesus Christ presenting his platform

in front of the typical Repub debate audience:

Blessed are the Meek

No more apology tours !!! We are an Exceptional nation !!!!!

Feed the poor

SOCIALIST !!!!!

Care for the Sick

REPEAL Jesuscare !!!

Blessed are the merciful

Build the fence !! It takes balls to execute an innocent man !!!!

Blessed are the peacemakers

Bomb Iran !!!

Blessed are the persecuted

Stone the gays !!!

What terrific reality TV

That’s religion for you, front and center.  Very few in any of the religious cults understand the background or history of what they are fighting for.  If they did, or if they could reason, they wouldn’t partake. I haven’t been able to figure out if they are the most ignorant well intending people, or rather a group raised to be the meanest cusses there is.  Whatever, I know one thing and this is to avoid socializing with those who avoid reason and critical thinking skills.

Ft. Buckley: Spreading the manure – Victor Davis Hanson on the Keystone Pipeline
Ft. Buckley claims it likes to “spread the wealth of good writing”, but actually it’s much closer to spreading the manure. The piece by Hanson on Obama’s decision on the Keystone pipeline is especially nauseating. Ft. Buckley doesn’t like  dissenting voices and prohibits those who don’t agree with him from posting in his blog, so I hope Tip doesn’t mind if I post my response to the Hanson manure here.

    a) “Anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 high-paying jobs were lost”
    - Zero jobs were lost, but yes a couple thousand were not created, but not the 10-20k Hanson pulled out of the air. TransCanada, the builder of the proposed pipeline, estimated 13k direct construction job, but when pressed for details admitted that figure was for “one person, one year”, meaning the 2 year project would create 6500 actual jobs – which is close the the State Department’s estimate of 5-6k jobs.

    b) “National security?” Where are these “fizzled wind & solar alternatives of which he speaks? Solyndra represents 1/2 of 1% of the Energy Dept.’s guarantee loan program to energy start-up companies.

    c) “Environment?” Hanson jokes about the pipeline not going through Yosemite on it’s way to Big Sur, the only national treasures worth preserving in his California thinking. The Sandhill / Ogalla aquifer is the largest aquifer in the the continental U.S. providing 73 of Nebraska’s drinking water and 83% of water used in agriculture. The original pipeline plan had the pipline going right through it, where a leak would be devastating. What’s that? Shutoff valves you say? Well, I believe the Deepwater Horizon had a rather large shutoff valve on it, it just didn’t work when needed.

     d) “Financial solvency?” Where do they find old fossils like this? A dollar spent on importing oil doesn’t affect the national debt one penny – consumers are paying to import that oil. A dollar spent on importing oil leaves the country and doesn’t return – until someone buys something from us. Speaking of which, Saudi Arabia and Iraq just announced last month they will purchase a combined $41 billion in military equipment from us. How much military hardware is Canada buying from us?

Hanson / Ft. Buckley: Go spread your manure somewhere else, we’re all stocked up here.

Not at all – anyone is welcome to help themselves. Don’s authoritarianism is notorious – although is is perfectly in like with the crypto-fascist leanings of his namesake :)

My God, your stupidity and ignorance is colossal regarding the work of  Victor Davis Hanson – if this is a reflection of the general intelligence level of this blog, you are to be pitied.

      >regarding the work of  Victor Davis  Hanson

The work of  who ? I thought it was supposed to be Don’s work ?
Sounds suspiciously like copyright violation, although I’m sure it’s just “fair use” :)

First tactic of the right, and a favorite: let’s start out with name calling and denigrating. Don has it down to a science. I am painfully aware of his “work”. He still thinks invading Iraq was a nifty, and a clever idea. When you can’t admit to past mistakes, it is often the first symptom of dementia. I simply pointed out the most ridiculous inaccuracies in this article.

To Tip: Don quote an article by Hanson, under the pretense of “spreading the wealth” by quoting what he considers “good articles”. I guess when you lack original thought that’s what you claim you’re doing.

Megaupload.com was just “sharing the wealth” too. Some people are so intolerant of sharing :)
