Adam apologizes to Rachel over Chik-Fil-A drive thru outburst

by on Aug. 04, 2012, under Bigotry, Catholic, Christian, GLBT, Republican, santorum, Vante

For putting her in the middle of his protest, which is appropriate under the circumstances, it seems.

“It seems”? :) You’ve even managed to alienate your gay and lesbian friends, great job! Come on Tip…dry your eyes, take your thumb out of your mouth, uncurl from the fetal position, pull yourself up by your birkenstocks, pour yourself a stiff Irish coffee and break out that old mean spirited, sucker-punching Tip we know and…expect.
Maybe you can get your sidekick Karl the red to help, as you seem to share the same ability to sidestep and redirect any rational discourse that may be uncomfortable to your shared myopia of the universe.
Oh…and always remember, ‘I may not always be right, but I’m never wrong’. This mantra should help you. :)

    • tiponeill

My job isn’t to not alienate anyone – it is to tell the truth as I see it.
And the way that I see it Mr. Smith should not have been fired for expressing his political opinion on his own time, just as the thousands of haters expressing the opposite opinion on chick fil a day were not fired and would be offended if they were fired.

      • radmax1

I’ll bet ya that if the ‘haters’ had cornered a gay man or lesbian and ranted an anti gay diatribe against their will, filmed that incident and posted it for the world to see there would hell to pay…and you know it.

        • tiponeill

Well you have to consider the circumstances. This wasn’t just a random someone being “cornered” this was an organized demonstration, and thousands of bigots WERE cornering Chick Fil A employees and telling them how happy they were that the company hated gays.
Quite a few of those employees WERE embarrassed, but there was no “hell to pay” and certainly they weren’t fired from their jobs by expressing their political opinions on their own time.

        • Your_Uncle_Karl

And rightly so.  While I don’t defend Mr. Smith’s haranguing of a proletariat, I will play devil’s advocate and ask: “Didn’t the young lady in the window at CFA make a “free will” choice to work at a business known for opposing “equality” and “freedom”?  And thus, doesn’t she bear some “personal responsibility” for “poor choices” that led to her being ”responsible” for her own difficulties?

          Goose and gander, Max.

          • Your_Uncle_Karl

In case my point is not transparent enough, I see no reason why it is illogical to use the right wings’ favorite tactic of “balming the victim”.

            • Your_Uncle_Karl

Or, instead of balming the victim, we could blame the victim.  Either way.

              • toughteri

That is an asinine rejoinder, Karl.

    • Your_Uncle_Karl

I’m sure you will agree, Max, that Mr. Smith was lacking in two things: some restraint of the cerebral cortex over the reactive and emotional centers of the brain; and, union representation.  If he had slowed down, counted to ten and given it some thought, someone with the brains to be a CFO could have come up with an even more creative and effective way to protest.  Perhaps developing sudden “car trouble” in the drive-thru?  If he had union representation, well he could have not only stuck it to the enemies of equality, but also to the enemies of the working class at the same time.  Just sayin’

    • Your_Uncle_Karl

Rad, I have it on good authority that the person responsible for the killings today in Wisconsin is a capitalist.  Knowing this, I expect you to be able to apologize, explain and repent your adherence to a certain philosophy of political economy that clearly makes people behave in this way.

No word yet on whether the man responsible was a tree-hugging, latte-drinking, volvo-driving liberal, a raving commie radical or a gun-toting, flag-waving right winger.  What do you think?  I’m betting this is the work of one of those crazy liberals, but if not, you’ve got some splainin’ to do.

      • radmax1

While it is clearly too early to speculate… I will give it a shot. This poor miscreant probably was hated by his mother, shunned at school, a loner, misunderstood at work, a textbook case for his analyst and a dedicated follower of fashion…what’s your point? He is obviously just another disgruntled a-hole with a screw or two loose…we’ll come to know this dick all too well soon enough. While there will be plenty of speculation as to the motivations of this jerk, what the hell do his politics mean to the victims for cryin’ out loud! Show a little of that commie compassion for pete’s sake Karl! My prayers are with the Sikh families right now, join me?

        • Your_Uncle_Karl

There you go again, evading the central issues.

          • radmax1

I told you I didn’t want to speculate! Hot off the presses, he is a socialist, of the national variety. Happy now?

            • Your_Uncle_Karl

That is like trying to distract me with a hand puppet while you make your escape.  I’m old and not very bright, but I am brighter than that.  Think they’ll find a copy of Das Kapital in his abode?

              • radmax1

;) …thought you’d get a kick out of that. The hand puppet distraction reference earned you a ‘like’. :)
Oh, if they do find his battered, dog eared copy, it is bound to contain his written lamentations as to the sorrowful plight of the working class in this country, compelling him to take out his frustrations on that bastion of the bourgeoisie, the Sikhs.

                • Your_Uncle_Karl

I’m sure you are correct.  I will contact Party Central and keep them informed as things develop.

                  • radmax1

Let some party apparatchik take credit or denounce us? No comrade Karl
Leftfieldovich, best we keep this close to our vests…the hills of Siberia are littered with those who played a ‘hunch’. ;)

        I dunno Comrade Karl.
Marxist philosophy doesn’t differ all that significantly from the ideology of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. They both are known to kill people who disagree with them in much the same fashion.  You outta’ understand that Machiavellian concept “the end justifies the means” pretty well.  Your namesake sure promoted it.

        • Your_Uncle_Karl

Just like you, Ado, I demand reference.  Your Uncle Karl didn’t live long enough to outline any program of transition in specific terms.  His work in the arena of political economy was confined almost entirely to the critique of capitalism and very little touched on the transition from capitalism to socialism. Now, your good friend Leon Trotsky, he did approach the subject of ends and means in his essay “Their Morals and Ours”.  Perhaps you have your copy readily available for discussion?

Anyway, I wish you had esplained the lack of difference between Nazis and Communists to Hitler before the invasion of France, because a large number of the French Partisans were commies.  You could have saved a lot of killing by telling them they were just the same as the Nazis.

  • GaryDiNardo

As always, the REAL victims of chickfilet have been overlooked. Look at the undercover videos taken by Mercy For Animals to see the treatment of animals used to make the ‘nuggets’ or whatever the crap is called that they sell.

    • Your_Uncle_Karl

Good point and well taken.  Perhaps PETA could ally with LGBT groups and organize together against CFA.  The treatment of poultry in this country is an abomination and should be an embarassment to us all.

      • GaryDiNardo

You took me by surprise. I’m not used to people agreeing with me.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/V24WOJGBAIO6QRBDBTOPPD4DPQ Ado

I seriously doubt that CFA is the only fast food joint that buys from the farmer/vendor/chicken rancher in question.  The protest ought be directed against the producer of the animal flesh, not the business serving the food.

I’m also sure there are humane ways to raise and kill poultry.  I’m pretty much a vegan myself and although I have little empathy for the meat eating crowd and the medical problems they self induce, I do respect everyone’s absolute right to stuff themselves with animal flesh till they are about to pop. There was a time in my past when I did the same thing. I can’t be too critical without being hypocritical.

As your humble servant, and being fluent in American-hatin’, tree-huggin’, terrorist-lovin’, French-wine-swillin’, surrender-monkey speak…I will translate Adam Smith’s douchebaggery dialect to American for everyone.

    • Your_Uncle_Karl

You got most of them, but you forgot “latte – drinking”.  Perhaps you should write this one on the underside of your camoflauge trucker cap.

  • MrSmithInDC

    Worst apology ever.

  • Fraser007

Mr. Adam Smith is a wimp. First he goes on a rampage and gets it on You Tube and he looses his job and now says “Im soooorrryyy” Wimp. He knew what he was doing….. and so did his boss.

Adam been eating too much quiche. That’s his only defense.  We all know real men don’t do that.  :+)   ><
