AZ Star comments (again)

by on Mar. 13, 2012, under Arizona, AZ STAR, Bigotry, Blogging, GLBT, Nativism, Republican, santorum, Tucson Citizen

I continue my fascination with the comments section of the AZ Daily Star.

Today is a good one, since they ran an article on DA Morales’ effort to recall

Superintendent Hicks.

Steve W. (standman)
Rumor has it that David A. Morales is a closet queen. I wonder if that story will ever break? There are those living down south that can attest to Morales’ perversions. Where’s the investigative reporting? Or does that stop when there is a negative report on one of the medias own darlings…literally and figuratively speaking.

veronica m. (vsmork)
Hey ADS do a story on David A Morales. Does he have kids in TUSD. How has he employed himself all these years, dig up all his radical statements and associations.

Lets run Morales out of town and let real leaders like Hicks keep doing his job.
john j. (nikkijones)

Mr. Morales, You sir need help. Your one sidedness and biggotry are starting to show. Just because you did not get your way, which is apparently the only way according to you. You want to recall people who don’t agree with you? You can seek proffesional help for that affliction or you can move to another city. Maybe LA. Get a life and don’t align yourself with loosers and crybabies. It makes you look like a fool.

Mr.Hick’s has my families vote also. And when this farce is over and Mr. Hick’s keeps his seat on the TUSD board. Who next will these FOOLS go after. CRYBABIES!!!!!!!!!!
A S. (awsjr)
Abie Morales is nothing more then a racist who happens to spew it with his blog…. he preys on innocent and impressionable children in TUSD…. he is such a perpetual liar that believes if you repeat the same lies over and over that it somehow becomes fact….
I suspect Mr. Morales has begun this effort because all the courts have, to date, rejected the claims of supporters of MAS, and he is acting out his frustrations. One of the fascinating psychological aspects of this issue is the way Mr. Morales and his handful of supporters are engaging in a neat little bit of projection. Mr. Hicks has never been the one to refuse to work with the complete spectrum of constituency groups concerned with issues related to TUSD. That has been the role played by Mr. Morales and the rabid ethnic nationalists he aligns with who continue to clamor for the reinstatement of the MAS classes as they were.

jon f. (jfast)
Rich, excellent post. This isn’t about Mr Hicks, its about LA RAZA regaining a foothold in TUSD pure and simple. You are right about Morales being a bully. He is worse than a bully using his position to pander to one specific group of people that want to continue to play the race card and are taught how to be modern bigots.

Rich K. (Rich907) wrote:

Mr. Morales is nothing more than a bully who uses intimidation and name calling to keep reasonable people from speaking out against the fringe radical ideology he supports. Those of us who have been around for a while have seen this behavior before from extremists on both edges of the political spectrum. The best thing to do with him is ignore his rantings and go about our business. I believe Mr. Hicks will not be bullied, and he will continue to work in the best interests of all of TUSD’s students.
I think I will start reading the Arizona Daily Independent the first thing every day.

All of which lead me to read this much ballyhooed Arizona Independent ( which was new to me) and this comment:

When they want to KILL us,why should we not return in kind?
Because racial mongrelization of the white race is the death
of the white race!

Ad augusta per angusta

Stay classy, Tucson. And don’t pollute our pristine media with Doonesbury.

In praise of Rush Limbaugh

by on Mar. 03, 2012, under Bigotry, Catholic, Christian, contraception, medical care, Republican, santorum

On his radio show recently Rush Limbaugh stirred up a hornet’s nest of condemnation.

He stated that the only valid sexual activity for a woman was to have sex with her one and only lifelong husband in such a way that pregnancy might result.

Anything else – any sex acts, any other person, any use of artificial birth control was sinful and his conscience was offended by the idea of government sponsored medical care actually paying for birth control so that women could sin.

The Catholic bishops meanwhile launched a major campaign, taken up by the Repub party and appearing before Congress, to denounce sluts who want to engage in sex and expect them to pay for it.

Or maybe it was the other way around – it doesn’t really matter.

Because all that Rush has done is say exactly the same thing that the Bishops said and the Republicans are saying, using more colloquial language.

And if you want to see hypocrisy in action, watch the people who will condemn Rush and applaud the Bishops.

Build the Dang Canadian Fence

I simply don’t understand how our Repub candidates are ignoring a huge threat to our national security – a completely undefended northern border.

They have warned of the danger of Obamacare turning our previously free country into one of those socialist-marxist european style welfare states, but you don’t have to go to Europe – Canada lost its freedoms decades ago.

Medical care there is available to everyone, and they don’t even skim off the top for insurance companies.

And the war on religion has been unremitting – anyone can get birth control, covered by their healthcare.

Why, a women there can even get an abortion if she wants one. Any time. With no restrictions. Not even a mild over-the-knee spanking from their priest. And the Bishops are forced to pay for it !!!!!

Talk about not respecting the delicate consciences of Bishops – Timmy Dolan would be apopleptic.

The family unit was destroyed long ago in Canada when they allowed gays and lesbians to marry, thus re-defining the word and making it meaningless. All is chaos, although no one re-defined the word “divorce” so somehow they have a lower divorce rate than we do.

With all of this sinking of moral values and religion being destroyed, Satan has destroyed the country and surely they cannot be pleasing in God’s eye the way that little Ricky wants to help us be. Surely poor oppressed Catholics with no freedoms of conscience will be swarming over the border begging asylum any day now.

Even if our homicide rate is 3 times theirs.

Luckily most of them speak English and we will be able to incorporate them into our prayer circles easily, as long as they aren’t ill or on birth control.

Some of them, however, speak French and naturally should be immediately deported.

We really are going to need that Danged Fence.

LIVEBLOGGING – Clown show – bring popcorn

by on Feb. 22, 2012, under Arizona, Catholic, Christian, Republican, santorum

Don’t forget the Repub Clown Parade tonight at 6 PM on CNN

(If you dont have cable it will be streamed live on CNN’s Web site)
The reviews and ratings so far show it to be the most entertaining sort-of-reality TV this year.

It will be moderated by John King, who in his last appearance was attacked (to great applause) by Newt for daring to ask about his open marriage arrangements.
Personally I think Newt should have handled it differently, pointing out that Callista would be the best First Lady having already defeated two opponents in the Primaries.

I think we can safely assume that all of the candidates – except perhaps Ron Paul – will come out firmly opposed to Satan. And probably only Gingrich will imply that Satan and President Obama are one and the same. And everyone will be too polite to mention Planet Kolob.

But what makes the “debates” so entertaining are not the candidates, but the audience, and tonight we are going to have an Arizona Tea Party audience !!!

So far we have been treated to cries of “let him die” for someone without health insurance, Boos for gay soldiers, and wild applause for executing a record number of people.

But I am certain that our Arizonans can top all previous audiences – we are Number One in sheer wingnuttyness.

So pop some popcorn and have a drink everytime little Ricky can’t figure out if he’s running for Pope or National Gynecologist.

And if you’re still sober afterwards, check out Dana Carvey’s Church Lady on Youtube to complete the experience.

GO ARIZONA !!!!!

This is not the pill you are looking for

Obama: This is not the pill you are looking for
Catholic bishops: This is not the pill we are looking for

Thus did the Jedi Master once again stifle the weak minded forces of evil without breaking a sweat.

The Bishops, of course, have been throwing something of a tantrum since under “Obamacare” contraception would be covered, even in corporations which they own.

(And they own a LOT).

This was a violation, they loudly proclaimed, of their “religious freedom” to live in the 18th century and pretend that contraception was a sin.

Naturally all the Repub candidates – also white males, but very very married – joined in to condemn Obama’s “war on religion”.

They are very religious, these guys.

As usual with the catholic church, no nuns were heard from.

But now it’s all gone away with one swoop of the bookeeping, and women will still be able to get contraception coverage.

If only altar boys could get pregnant, contraception would be a sacrament.

9th Circuit Overrules Arizona Bigots

by on Feb. 07, 2012, under Arizona, Bigotry, Catholic, Christian, GLBT, Republican, santorum

(No – not talking about SB1070 this time)

Today the 9th Circuit finally issued it’s long awaited decision on Prop 8,
finding it to be unconstitutional.

The vote was 2-1 with the Democrats outvoting the Repubbigots.

“Proposition 8 served no purpose, and had no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California,” the court said.

When I first moved to Arizona the first thing that greeted me was the christian bigot funded ballot proposition that amended the State constitution to discriminate against gays.

Pima County voted against it, but was outvoted statewide in this reddest of states.

What the decision means is still unclear – it will in all probability be stayed and appealed and may apply to Arizona or may be limited to California.

In the long run equality will have to wait for the Supreme Court, as always.

And there it hangs by a thread – the re-election of President Obama.

All of the Repub candidates have, of course, vowed to make the United States the most backwards country in the Western world and write bigotry into the Constitution.

Anyone who actually votes for Mitt or Newt or whatever clown they come up with has no excuse claiming that they don’t know they are voting for hate – it is in plain sight.

The week in christian action – Ellen and Girl Scout cookies, oh my

The Christian Hate Group American Family Association organized protest of J C Penny for choosing Ellen to be their spokesperson.

Funny that JC Penney thinks hiring an open homosexual spokesperson will help their business when most of its customers are traditional families.

The Christian USA Ministries is calling for a boycott of Starbucks for being one of more than 100 firms in Washington supporting same sex marriage.

“Christians are upset with Starbucks for turning against God…Starbucks can follow Satan if they want to,” Steven Andrew, and evangelical pastor and president of the USA Christian Ministries in California, said in a statement.

Started boycott of Girl Scout cookies in protest of their accepting a transgender brownie.
(I hear they support Planned Parenthood too)

St. Timothy Roman Catholic parish in Chantilly in Fairfax County ousted 12 troops with 115 girls. In Alexandria, Saint Rita Catholic Church is reportedly considering doing the same.

Revealed their control of the Komen Foundation by cancelling support for Planned Parenthood and embrionic stem cell research.
(That went well )

Catholic Bishops posted Urgent Action Alert to protest the Obama administration decision that women were entitled to obtain birth control.

They were busy this week. The good news is that more people seem to be considering them not only hateful, but irrelevant.

Except for Repub Presidential candidates, of course.

Redneck American Day ?

In the grand tradition of Arizona Republicans, Rep. Cecil Ash, a Republican from Mesa, is suggesting Arizona needs a holiday for white people.
You can’t make this stuff up.

Quiz – Guess the Party

by on Feb. 01, 2012, under Arizona, Bigotry, Christian, Nativism, Republican, santorum

Quite often now we hear someone explaining that the problem with our political process is “parties”.

If only we had open primaries, if only we didn’t print candidate’s parties on ballots, if only we had “non-partisan” elections …..

This is total nonsense – there is no better way to judge how a candidate will vote than to see the party affiliation next to their name.

These efforts are actually efforts to PREVENT voters from having the information they need to make informed decisions.

Not only can one tell how a candidate will vote based upon their party – you can tell what party they belong to based upon their vote.

Here are a few bills introduced in our state legislature in the last few weeks – I dare anyone NOT to know the party of the lawmakers who introduced them:

Bills to:

  • Teach the Bible in public school
  • Allow guns on campus
  • Prohibit legal medical marijuana users in student housing.
  • Define “human life” as starting at “conception” and lecturing pregnant women seeking abortions.
  • Require hospitals to report suspected non-documented patients to immigration.

If you can’t guess the party, you aren’t informed enough to vote.
