Tequila Party and the fear that is worrying someby President of Somos A. Bustos on Jun. 13, 2011, under Tequila Party Movement
Critics of the Tequila Party are scared for no reason. I have never seen so many yellow bellies in my life just because eligible Latin voters want to empower ourselves. Critics complain about the broken immigration system…..some complain about Hispanics not voting enough, and now they are complaining about a national massive Latin get out the vote program? Amazing.
The mission of the Tequila Party is to conduct one big massive Get Out the Latin Vote. So why are they afraid? So many people seem to be afraid for some reason and it’s hysterical….the Tea partiers are worried, Si Señor people are worried, and the conservative older generation seem to believe we are pushing Tequila instead of bringing awareness to getting out the Latin vote.
So let’s deal with their fears, shall we?
First of all, the recent National Tequila Party Rally registered 100% Democratic voters in Tucson, Arizona.
Secondly, we did not sell Tequila — we had political speakers encouraging our crowd to register to vote. Those who are part of the National Tequila Party Movement want to take part in the Democratic process.
Thirdly, our parents and the older generation should stop acting passive because the only way we can give our legislators a type of political covering to pass comprehensive legal immigration reform is to become better primary election voters as well as general election voters.
It’s going to take the younger generation to take the bull by the horns. No offense to the older generation, but being passive no longer works. WE HAVE TO TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY BY BECOMING REGISTERED VOTERS, GETTING ON THE EARLY BALLOT SYSTEM, BECOMING PRIMARY ELECTION VOTERS AS WELL AS GENERAL ELECTION VOTERS.
Those who believe the Tequila Party Movement will somehow send Latins “backward” are insane and are of the old type of submissive thinking.
It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that it is important for all of us to vote because that is our “only shot to change”.
This “scared business” is unnecessary. Folks ought to grow a spine….go to the mountain tops and shout out: GET OUT THE LATIN VOTE! The Latin Tsunami is here!
