Why aren’t we seeing more Mexican-American Democratic legislators putting themselves at risk for jail on behalf of the immigration issue?  After all, DHS is deporting more immigrants of Mexican descent than any other Latin ethnic group.  Luis Gutierrez is of Puerto Rican descent where Puerto Ricans don’t have an immigration plight that other Latin immigrants from other countries endure.  Cuban Americans enjoy their unique amnesty, too, via the wet foot dry foot policy.   Luis Gutierres is admired tremendously for championing the immigration issue on the Democratic side.

Now is the time for Mexican-Americans to get assertive against the mass deportations occurring right now!  2012 is our year.  Don’t take scraps from the table anymore.  Demand respect by getting all of your eligible relatives to vote in 2012.
