Check this out, this just in.  It looks like California Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa wants to end the Arizona boycott.  I wonder how the Democrats are going to respond to this.  Did Jan Brewer end the SB 1070 litigation?  If so, I’m not aware of it.  I think Villaraigosa is a hypocrite and so are the Democratic leaders who like to paint “all” Republicans as racists, yet they have their own essentially endorsing the same thing as Brewer.  What’s in it for the mayor, the City Council President Garcetti, and other council members?  Enquiring minds wanna know.  See below news.

Almost one year ago, a divisive, hateful, anti-immigrant law was passed in Arizona – SB 1070 – creating outrage among Latinos across the country, particularly here in Los Angeles.

Our communities called for a national boycott of Arizona, and the City of Los Angeles proudly responded, passing a resolution to boycott all Arizona-based companies and suspend all city-funded travel to Arizona. [1] That national boycott is working!

But now, L.A. city officials are on the verge of awarding $106 million of our tax dollars to one of Arizona’s largest companies: Honeywell International.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, City Council President Garcetti, and other council members are about to break their promise, and betray our communities in the process. Will you join us in telling them to stop the Honeywell deal and write a strong ordinance that restricts city contracts with Arizona-based companies?

Honeywell’s $106 million dollar bid to maintain the L.A. Waste Water Treatment Plant is a bad idea for L.A. There are certainly other viable companies not based in Arizona that can do the job.

L.A. is home to more Latinos than any other community in the country and should be a model to the rest of the nation when it comes to standing up for immigrant rights. After the boycott resolution passed last year, the City Attorney was instructed to draft an ordinance restricting city contracts with Arizona-based companies. But this never happened.

Tell the City of Los Angeles that we don’t want just words, we want action to protect immigrant rights. Ask Mayor Villaraigosa and city council members to pass an ordinance that will enforce the boycott of all Arizona-based companies.
