Hispanic Leadership Network Event in New Mexico a Disaster

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

Who in their right mind made the decision to have CCA (private prison industry) be a sponsor of an event that is supposed to be Hispanic or Latino friendly?

Senator Norm Coleman and the Hispanic Leadership Network was a disaster.  It’s a perception game particularly when they had Idaho Congressman Raul Labrador leading the immigration discussion.  He’s from Idaho for goodness sakes!  And Raul wants to send ALL 12 million undocumented immigrants back to where they came from.  Can you believe that?  Of course, Raul is Puerto Rican, and doesn’t feel the pain of Latinos, Mexicanos that don’t benefit from special privileges via immigration.  It is a fact that Puerto Ricans receive automatic citizenship.  It’s also a fact that Cuban immigrants receive privileged amnesty under the Cuban Adjustment Act.

We told Raul that the GOP has supported amnesty via the Cuban Adjustment Act, and he told the Tequila Party that the GOP ought to do away with Cuban amnesty via the Cuban Adjustment Act.  That’s what he told us.

Below is a story about the HLN event, followed by a photo of all the sponsors to the Hispanic Leadership Network event in New Mexico.

“When I first got here my first thought is that half of the people here are not Hispanic,” he said. “My second thought is that half of the people here are either speakers or politicians, but not necessarily Latino voters that you would see in your neighborhood.”
