You might want to ask farmers about that...and start with Yuma, Arizona, the lettuce capitol of the U.S., which has unemployment rates well in the 20% range, rivaling the great depression, and yet farmers are still having trouble finding workers. Be sure to ask farmers in Georgia and Alabama too, as they've experienced billions in crop losses due to lack of help at harvest times.

No, our problems with illegal immigration won't be resolved until we fix our legal system to bring immigration in-line with the needs of our economy. We admitted 1.7 million guest workers and trainees in 2007, but had seven million 'guest workers' who lacked visas, above and beyond the 1.7 million, which works out to visas granted of less than 20%.

"There are jobs in this country we, as Americans, simply do not want to do. I used to hate it when people said that, but the more I have studied this problem, the more I realize it is the truth."

That is not the truth. Anyone who believes that is either unimaginably naive or they have ulterior motives.

As usual, it is all about the money. There is no shortage of any type of workers in America but there is one heck of a shortage of employers willing to abide by US labor law. If those exploitive employers continue refusing to pay competitive wages and benefits, that is okay. There are plenty of aspiring business owners who will step forward and fill the void.

That is the beauty of supply and demand. As long as there are customers with plenty of money to spend, plenty of people will endeavor to make a profit by supplying the goods and services to satisfy that demand.
