Stranger things than me agreeing with a Republican on the Internet have happened, I suppose. I congratulate Mr. Quasius on his article. The key phrase comes from his citation from the CRS report: “The weight of legal and historical authority….” There is an argument to be made that only native-born citizens qualify to be President, but when everything is considered, I conclude, as have the legal scholars writing on the topic,” that the better argument is that “citizen from birth” is what a natural born citizen means.

I’m not pushing Cruz for president. However, pundits are already ‘muddying the waters’ by raising the issue of natural born citizenship, just as they have for other non-candidates like Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, etc.

I like Ted Cruz, but think he needs more experience. He’s only been a U.S. Senator for a few days. The point of this blog is that Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen though he was born in Canada.

O.K. I think Ted Cruz is presidential material, at least from the limited times I have heard him talk and what the media has quoted him as saying. He sounds like a good man. Regrettably, I don’t see anyone of his caliber in the Libertarian Party. I like the Libertarian platform the best and I just wish they would find a candidate that resonates with voters to a greater degree.
