Members of Ariz. delegation react to NSA surveillance
Monday, June 10th, 2013Arizona’s lawmakers in Washington offered a range of reaction this week to the National Security Agency’s controversial surveillance operations, with some saying the government acted lawfully while others directed pointed criticism at the president, saying he would have opposed such intelligence gathering while in the U.S. Senate.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., called for “a full and open congressional hearing” on the NSA’s gathering of information about phone calls and Internet traffic, saying it should provide “a full and complete accounting” from the government.
