Is Eric Bolling FOX News’ Rising Star and Chief Liar?

by on Jul. 16, 2011

Well, we’ve all seen what has been happening with News Corp. and Rupert Murdoch, I think many of us are loudly wishing that it trickles down to FAUX News. However, Murdoch and his spin machine didn’t get to where they’re at by being weak or easily susceptible to attacks from the left or the government. As a matter of fact, I do believe they own part of the government, at the very least they certainly do have a slew of politicians in their deep hip pocket.

FOX will get dinged, but it won’t be anything serious. However we seem to be watching an attempt to change the old guard, that or some of the new blood is getting more outrageous as to attract attention. Case in question, Eric Bolling who currently hosts “Follow The Money” on FOX.

I’ve noticed Bolling getting more and more outlandish since we caught wind that Beck was leaving. I’m sure he was privy to that information much before we were. In any event it’s clear that Bolling is not only pushing the envelope when it comes to outlandish comments, he is outright lying. I guess no one told him about Media Matters and other fact checking progressive machines that specifically monitor the lying right. Believe me, FOX has plenty of fodder for Media Matters.

As I said Bolling’s an offensive “POL”, plain old liar! Here are some of his gems.

On his show “Follow The Money,” Bolling criticized Obama’s visit with Ali Bongo, the president of Gabon, by saying, “Guess who’s coming to dinner? A dictator. Mr. Obama shares a laugh with one of Africa’s kleptocrats. It’s not the first time he’s had a hoodlum in the hizzouse.”

As he said “hizzouse,” a picture of rapper Common appeared on the screen. Common’s appearance at a White House poetry event drew loud complaints from conservatives.

Later, Bolling made similar comments. “What’s with all the hoods in the hizzy?” he asked, saying that Bongo has been “accused of human rights violations and plundering billions of his country’s dollars.”

Mr. Obama, you’ve decided that chugging a few 40s and rediscovering you’re Irish is more important than a presidential visit to a community trying to figure out what just hit them.

Discussing Obama’s budget proposal, Bolling stated: “How does increasing taxes count as spending cuts in your world, Mr. Obama? Maybe in Kenya, but certainly not here.

” Following the release of Obama’s long-form birth certificate, Bolling claimed that the birth certificate’s “green border” “had to be Photoshopped in.”

Here is what we should do: privatize [TSA]. Fire them all. Let independent companies come in, take it over, and then do this: aggressive profiling, not just behavioral profiling, cultural profiling as well. Get the airways safe again.

The May 11, 2009, edition of Fox Business’ Happy Hour featured a graphic of various politicians pictured around a baseball diamond. When pointing to Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), who is openly gay, Bolling said that Frank was “appropriately positioned … catching, of course.

On the June 2, 2011, edition of Fox & Friends, Bolling said that Commerce Secretary nominee John Bryson “is so pro-green” that “you could almost call him an eco-terrorist.

Following the Deepwater Horizon explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, Bolling suggested on the May 3, 2010, edition of Fox & Friends that the Obama administration might have “let” the rig leak before “address[ing] it.” On the May 27, 2010, edition of Happy Hour, Bolling again wondered if Obama “let” the rig leak so he “could renege on his promise … to allow some offshore drilling.”

I could go on and on with quotes and instances of this low life’s offensive rhetoric and lies, but let’s get to the video of Bolling demeaning a woman and calling her a kid. I mean if he doesn’t respect one minority, people of color, why should he respect another, women.

The discussion got a bit testy when Bolling referred to his guest as “kid” and she later responded mockingly back to him as “dad.” Yet the most heated moment came when Heldman admitted “Democrats are using a bit of hyperbole” by claiming Social Security checks won’t go out if the debt ceiling isn’t raised. Bolling exploded in response and demonstrated his own hyperbole:

“You just called that hyperbole? Because I call it threatening, fear-mongering, putting a hatchet over a chicken’s head.”

Then Bolling’s biggest and best lie of all. With demagogue and ex White House Spokesperson under Bush’s regime, Dana Perino sitting right smack next to him, Bolling let loose with,

“America was certainly safe between 2000 and 2008,” he said. “I don’t remember any attacks on American soil during that period of time.”

Perino throws a fit because Bob Beckel a Democratic strategist and FOX News contributor refers to Bush’s outright lies about WMD’s in Iraq which as we all know misled congress and launched us into a war based on misinformation, which in turn led to our current state of affairs, trillions in debt to a communist country. Hell, our founding fathers must be turning in their graves right about now. Yet, Perino does not say a damn word about Bolling’s great lie.

I’m telling you, this Republican machine called FOX News is tantamount to a terrorist organization with deep pockets cloaked in the American flag.

So is Bolling the new Glenn Beck? Willing to risk his career by spewing offensive racist comments and lies to rise to the top of the pond scum called right wing political television, or as some call it, FOX News?

In January 2003, most American leaders—Republican and Democrat—believed Saddam had WMD, as did most Western European intelligence agencies.  There are plenty of Clinton administration officials on record talking about how dastardly
Saddam was.  Did Dubya, while he was Governor of Texas, pull a Jedhi mind trick on all of those Democrats and get them to say stuff about Saddam that they didn’t believe to be true?

As for America owing so much to a “communist country” (I presume you mean China)—well, why is President Obama borrowing so much more from China than Dubya ever did?  Does Dubya have Obama under his spell, too?

Don, I love the way you are always referring to fantasies and cartoon characters like LeFou, etc. It does give me an insight into what world you live in. However, when we’re talking reality, and that is of course the world we live in, your analogy to Bush’s governorship and other world leaders during his tenure as CEO of Texas is irrelevant. Fact is, we’re referring to Bush’s White House occupation and his outright lies to our congress. That is what in fact took us to a war based on fictitious information provided by the Bush cronies.
“LeFou”(correct spelling Don), “Jedhi mind trick”, “spells”, as in Harry Potter. Wow! Sir, who you are speaks so loudly, I can’t hear you!

      • Don

Carlos, you are right—you and I live in different worlds.  Thank God.

      • Don

Carlos, apparently you misunderstood my reference to Bush’s tenure as TX governor.  No problem—you’re a Democrat[ I should have anticipated this.  I’ll explain.

During the Clinton administration, MANY Democrats said that Saddam Hussein was believed to possess WMD and pose a threat to the Middle East.  I.e., they were telling the same “lies” you accuse Dubya of telling when he was president.

Seeing as the Democrats surely weren’t lying, they must have been under some spell Dubya cast.  While the Clinton Administration was in power, Dubya was…Governor of Texas.  Hence the reference:  Dubya must have cast the spell on these Democrats, to force them to lie about Saddam’s WMD, while he was Governor of Texas.

I didn’t think I needed to explain this to you…but I’m happy to oblige.

Don, it’s you that doesn’t seem to get it! Oh yeah, you’re a Republican I should remember that. You think if you keep repeating a lie, it becomes the the truth. I will explain it for you. Let’s dumb it down for you! It doesn’t matter what the Dems were saying back then. Bush was in charge and he lobbied each and every member of congress both Democrats and Rethuglicans using false information. Do you understand it now? He was president! Get it? Sitting in the White House. Leading the country into a failed war. Let me see how else can I explain it to you. Oh, I know! Let’s create some stick figures, or better yet, cartoons like Gaston & LeFou. You seem to be fond of those. You have a lot in common with LeFou, intelligence wise. I think it goes far beyond the fact that you’re a Rethuglican.

          • Don

So…Democrats are stupid and easily led?  That seems to be what you’re saying.

Did you read the snopes.com entry?  Democrats were saying, back in the late 1990s…before Bush was president… that Saddam Hussein had a WMD program.  Why would they say that, if they didn’t believe it?

          • stoneave

This Carlos guy is a hoot. Good work, footsoldier!

            • Don

We have an interesting campaign season ahead.

      • Don

The following Democrats said, during the Clinton administration was in office,  that Saddam Hussein possed a WMD threat:  President Clinton, Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Senator Carl Levin, National Security Advisor Sandy Berger.

Read down to the bottom, so you can see the actual quotes from these Democratic Party leaders, along with the timelines.

“As for America owing so much to a “communist country””

China has not really been a “communist country” since Chairman Mao died.  If they were, they wouldn’t likely have all that money to lend and the powerhouse economy they do.

      • stoneave

You should address that to Carlos since it was his point, not Don’s.

        • leftfield

It’s just general information, not an argument.

          • stoneave

            Was too! : /

Yeah, it felt wrong after I posted it. Sorry about that.

  • stoneave

I was going to post something about people who get all worked up over political commentators, as if they would rather live in Barney land (that’s the dinosaur, not the one who reassured us in 2003 that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were doing just fine, thank you*).

But then, of course, I realized that this Galindo guy is a political commentator himself, which means he’s all just part of the game, too.  They go on the air and work their followers up into a frenzy, and then they shut it down and go out to get a Whopper with fries on the way to pick up more toilet paper at Walmart like everybody else. It’s just a show, it’s not like they live this stuff.

So I say…keep on truckin’. Democracy in action. Yin and yang.

After all, where would you guys be without having each other to talk about?

*From the New York Times, September 11, 2003:
The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry…

…Among the groups denouncing the proposal today were the National Association of Home Builders and Congressional Democrats who fear that tighter regulation of the companies could sharply reduce their commitment to financing low-income and affordable housing.

”These two entities — Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — are not facing any kind of financial crisis,” said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ”The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”

Formatting fail! But you get the point.

Bolling is surely insane, especially once he got to Fixed Noise and Fake Business. And over at FBN, Charles Payne and Tracy Byrnes are trying to be next Bolling clones.

  • chuck freitas

Hey Justin—Would you rather have Ed Shultz???  (the chief liar of MSNBC)..

  • Don

Carlos, did the Clinton administration (and leadership in the Democratic Congressional delegation) screw up when they declared Saddam a WMD threat?

After 9/11, George W. Bush said that America was going to deal, proactively, with sponsors of terror* and threats to peace.  The Clinton Administration clearly considered Hussein a threat to peace, based on the WMD program that the Clinton Administration said that Hussein was pursuing.  (F0llow the snopes link above).

Bush just took Clinton’s assessment to its logical conclusion.

    * Don’t forget—Hussein routinely paid $25,000 to the families of suicide bombers that struck Israel.  I consider that supporting terror.
