I was reading a news story today which I’m sure has repeated itself throughout the United States over the years. The difference is that in this case, the young man left explicative letters behind. Joaquin Luna committed suicide out of frustration and desperation because of his legal status in the United States.

Luna was brought here at a very young age and was fully integrated into what we consider the fabric of America. He did all the right things. He kept his nose clean, studied hard, and had dreams of becoming an engineer. The typical American kid with the typical American dream. However, that’s exactly what it was, a dream. Joaquin Luna was a Dreamer in a multifaceted sense of the word.

Young undocumented students are commonly referred to as Dreamers based on the proposed “Dream Act” legislation that would allow these kids to come out of the shadows and either enlist in the military or attend a post secondary school. They’re your teenagers friends, your neighbors, perhaps the kid who on weekends mows your lawn as he helps his dad out in his landscaping business. They are all around you! They speak perfect English. They’re bright and articulate, and for the most part, well informed. They are up on political issues. Well, for them, political awareness is survival.

Maybe that’s exactly what frustrated Joaquin so. Having the knowledge that last year the Dream Act failed by a handful of votes. Knowing he was about to graduate from high school and facing that very real fear that he wouldn’t be able to afford to attend a university because of the prohibitive costs for non residents, and knowing that he couldn’t work based on his social security number deficiency. If he worked, he would have had to use a false identification which as he well knew, is a crime. Imagine the frustration, loving the United States with all your heart, feeling like a patriotic American, yet living with the open secret that you are undocumented. I also want you to imagine feeling like an American, yet having to hear yourself described by extremists as an illegal, a leach, a dirty wetback who came here to live off welfare and become an Obama Democrat.

It’s no wonder that a young fragile mind facing such a haunting future would have felt that the only solution was to end his life. There are very few resources available for these young people. Without a social security number they can’t seek psychological assistance or even counseling from the normal channels that many of us Americans would traverse.

They’re caught in the middle, and they’re hearing the hype from both sides. Many pro Immigrant groups and “leaders” give them very little hope. Claiming instead that their President abandoned them and that they doubt Obama will do anything to help them or other undocumented Immigrants in their struggle to adjust their Immigration status. While at the same time they watch the anti-Immigrant groups aggressively lobby to shut not only the borders, but any door that may lend itself as a viable option for relief for these Dreamers. The politicians often refer to these Dreamers in their debates and in speeches on the campaign trail. They have masterfully polished the Immigration issue to get elected and reelected using all “illegals” as scapegoats for the nation’s problems.

As the years grind on and more doors are shut to these Dreamers, will we see a growing trend of frustration and acts of desperation on behalf of these Dreamers that for all practical purposes are great Americans, well, except for one slight problem, they were brought here unlawfully as toddlers by their parents from a country they don’t remember and have never returned to?

So many Dreamers feel they’re facing a dead end, at least that’s Joaquin Luna thought when he dressed up in a suit and tie, kissed his family goodbye and took a small caliber handgun into the bathroom of his family’s home and shot himself in the head, ending his life as a Dreamer.

The only thing young Joaquin left behind was his frustrations and shattered dreams as an “illegal”, all penned on paper for the world to see.

When I was advised that Bachmann would be scurrying into town, I decided to skedaddle on over to Sheriff Joe’s office to see what she had to say, and of course to keep the mainstream media honest. I didn’t figure anyone would ask the hard questions, or at least a question that would put her on the hot seat, particularly regarding the fact that we have millions of undocumented workers in the United States. What would she do with them if she won the most prized post as leader of the world? Of course I knew she wouldn’t answer directly when asked.

Nobody wants to admit that we are completely dependent on the low skilled undocumented labor that we import from Mexico. Nobody wants to admit that we are complicit to the existence of the undocumented workers. Everyone wants to live in denial and in the houses built by these “culprits”. They want to stuff their faces with the vegetables picked by them. They want to enjoy their manicured lawns mowed and trimmed by them, and they want to enjoy their shiny cars after going through the local car wash spiffed up by these undocumented car wash employees. The list goes on and on of jobs filled by the undocumented worker that an average American absolutely will not fill, and, if they were to work that job, they wouldn’t last.

So Bachmann answered my question like any other politician would. You know? Using code words meant to incite emotion from Immigrant haters and deniers, and meant to make her appear responsible and in tune with the topic. “We have to secure the border first”, “We have to remove those magnets that draw them here.” Blah, blah, blah.

Bachmann proved she was just another talking head out of touch with the undocumented Immigration issue, seeking to fill a job she just is absolutely not qualified to fill. She did however, look like Sheriff Joe’s drooling lap dog, looking for his endorsement by touting his stardom and by winking her enlarged eyes while converting her cynical smirk to a beauty queen smile.

As for Sheriff Joe, when asked whether he would give Bachmann his endorsement, he responded by saying that he hadn’t decided yet. Ah, Sheriff Joe, always the astute politician. Why would he commit to endorsing one candidate so early in the game when he could possibly be courted by other candidates as the Republican field narrows down to two viable candidates for the Republican nomination to replace the black man sleeping in the White House.

If you look up the word hypocrisy in the dictionary nowadays, you’re likely to find a picture of the Republican logo. What’s worse, is that they are shameless. They don’t care that they originally opposed stem cell research and that they now support it. They don’t care that the very wealthy pay less taxes than the poor. They don’t care that their representatives in Congress claim they are not part of the establishment while they’re sitting in Washington like fat cats stuffing their faces at luncheons and being lobbied by special interest. They are simply shameless liars. They claim one thing and do another.

I never have liked the Republican party, whom I affectionately call the Rethuglicans. There has always been this air of arrogance about them, and the hypocrisy is deeply embedded, but the new Republican and their aggressive and extreme splinter, the Tea Party, has taken hypocrisy to new heights.

From the stimulus money they voted against and then took, to the call for a balanced budget while facilitating continued tax evasion for the elite, it’s all part of their hypocritical agenda.

Frankly, I don’t know how they look at themselves in the mirror in the morning, with what all they are doing to this country daily.

The Republicans have actually been successful in convincing many of those in the middle or lower class to shoot themselves in the foot. To watch your average American fighting for tax loopholes for the wealthy is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. It’s just plain unadulterated ignorance. They are kept wallowing in their ignorance by their political leaders and the millionaire pundits who benefit from those same tax loopholes these poor imbeciles are fighting for.

The Republicans scream class warfare as if the wealthy have to be protected from an attack. The wealthy are the ones calling the shots, funding political campaigns, buying favors and ruining this great country. Class warfare? Unbelievable!!!

The conservatives controlled by the very wealthy are the one’s hell bent on eliminating the middle class. They yearn for a class system that is defined by the very rich and the very poor. So, every time I hear a wealthy political pundit or a conservative politician scream class warfare I can’t help but see that “H” tattooed on their forehead, and every time I hear a conservative blue collar worker say the same in order to protect the very wealthy, I cringe, shake my head and wonder if this person realizes that he’ll be next in the soup line.

You may be wondering, hypocrisy? What is the actual definition? I’ve helped you out a little below.

I think the obvious answer is yes. Well, let’s clarify what president I’m referring to. I’m in fact referring to Russell Pearce, Arizona’s senate president. According to Pearce, in a letter sent out to his supporters, he calls himself the senate Tea Party president. What an absolute joke. This man is like a leech on an a jack-ass’ arse. He’ll bleed anything around him so long as he can survive and fill his spineless body with that much needed blood.

In a recent email to Pearce & Brewer supporters, Janice K. Brewer, Arizona’s 22nd governor, didn’t just ask, but plead for money for her boss hog of the state of Arizona. We all know what this is all about.

It’s obvious Jan Brewer is stepping up to the plate for Pearce because she owes him big time. After all it was his anti-immigrant legislation SB1070 that propelled this inept, ex secretary of state, and worthless ex legislator to the top. Brewer has never denied it. Brewer is in fact the “sitting” governor of the state of Arizona, and that’s about as far as it goes. She is allowed to sit on the throne, but Pearce is actually our defacto Arizona governor. Pearce made his position very clear during a Sunday Square Off interview in which he said he was a co-partner in running this state and that, according to Pearce, “you can’t ignore the fact that senate bill 1070 had an impact on the governor’s race.” Anyway you want to spin that comment, politically it means one thing, you owe me big time guv.

So now that Pearce is in trouble, well, let me rephrase that, now that he has been placed in the predicament of a hasty election in November, Janice is groveling for money for her “dance partner”, of course he’s taken the lead as any self respecting chauvinistic Tea Party politician would in this political tango.

Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive the people of Arizona using false statistics and fear mongering while maintaining an intimate relationship with the corporate corrections giants. Maybe Pearce can turn to them for funding, after all, he’s made them a pretty penny in Arizona. Perhaps he can get some more bowl tickets and auction them off to not just the highest bidder, but the most racist of the bidders.

In any event Jan Brewer’s intervention in the upcoming November 8, 2011 election is barefaced and unapologetic, after all, she owes a debt. It’s quid pro quo time and Pearce has called in his chips, and Brewer has diligently responded like any cheap ballerina would with, what’s your song of choice Mr. Pearce? (make sure you read that with a southern drawl)

Well, let me clarify that title. They’re certainly loudmouths who rant and rave daily about our President and how he’s supposedly turning the U.S. into a socialist country. They’re always shooting off at the mouth about not raising taxes to protect the wealthiest and how the liberals are after their guns.

However, what I’m referring to is their silence about News Corporation. Why aren’t they saying anything? After all, this is a monster of a media organization who admittedly crossed the line and violated the law in a European country and is currently under investigation by the F.B.I. for perhaps having utilized the same corrupt, deceptive, and intrusive tactics to obtain “private” information for use use on their right wing media networks here in the United States.

Do the Republicans hate European countries that much, that they’re okay with illegalities perpetuated in the lives of Europeans that could very well have spilled over across the pond, and are they willing to be complicit by and through their silence? Where is the outrage? Now we know News Corp., FOX News’ daddy, was in bed with the police and many government officials. Aren’t Republicans all about telling government to stay out of their lives?

It’s obvious that News Corp. owns News of the World, and if the tabloid’s modus operandi was get the story at whatever cost, even if it includes hacking into a dead teenagers telephone, then what’s to stop that media giant from using those same dirty tactics while running FOX News or the rest of their tabloids here in the United States, like, The New York Post, Wall Street Journal or the Washington Times. The hypocrisy of the right is glaringly transparent. They are outraged over a mother found not guilty of killing her child by a jury of her peers in Florida, and yet they don’t flinch when they hear that a media giant that feeds most of them their daily political fodder is involved in not only hacking a murdered child’s phone, but revealing sensitive information about an innocent child’s illness as in “Gordon Brown’s child”.

The Sun allegedly uncovered details about Brown’s son, Fraser, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, when he was an infant, and wrote exclusive stories about his then-unknown illness.

According to The Guardian, Rebekah Brooks, then the editor of The Sun and currently the head of News International, phoned Brown in October 2006, telling him that her paper knew his son had cystic fibrosis. The paper then published the exclusive details.

The paper later touted its scoop, saying that it was evidence of The Sun having “set the news agenda.”

There are even serious allegations rapidly developing that indicate that family members of the victims of 911 were hacked by the owners of FOX News in order to develop sensational headlines and further material for FOX News pundits. They’ve even paid police officers in London for information, just imagine how many cops they must have bought off here.

So while Rupert Murdoch’s lieutenants fall one by one, Rebekah Brooks, chief executive of News International and former editor of the News of the World and currently an inmate in a London jail, and I suspect soon Murdoch’s son James will join her in his own steel apartment, Murdoch is strolling around in his expensive suits printing apologies in his competitors newspapers and all the meanwhile Republican’s are silent.

I suspect some of that silence comes from holding their breath waiting to see what’s going to happen here in the United States. If Murdoch does a good job of buying off government officials and investigators, and if nothing serious is exposed, the Republicans and in particular their media machine FOX News will explode with coverage on the Murdoch scandal, claiming that they have always maintained a pristine news organization under Roger Ailes, even though we all know that a high ranking employee of his exposed him for coaching her to lie to federal investigators.

Keep in mind that based on existing laws and in particular the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act a U.S. corporation like News Corp cannot bribe foreign officials which includes police officers. We know good and well that Rebekah Brooks did just that, as she openly admitted during a select committee of members of parliament. The legal implications are glaring for News Corp and could very well bring down their operations in the United States. FOX News could also find itself affected under FCC rules for television ownership, as you must be considered of good moral character to hold that license, and that could easily be challenged.

Once again we see the hypocrisy of the Republicans, their politicians, and their corrupt entities. They complain about gays, extra marital affairs, illegal immigration, socialism and corruption to name a few, and all the while their congressmen are sending sexually laced messages to male pages, screwing their nannies and producing illegitimate children, hiring undocumented workers, giving corporate welfare and promoting and entertaining themselves with media outlets that are lopsided and corrupt.

Well, we’ve all seen what has been happening with News Corp. and Rupert Murdoch, I think many of us are loudly wishing that it trickles down to FAUX News. However, Murdoch and his spin machine didn’t get to where they’re at by being weak or easily susceptible to attacks from the left or the government. As a matter of fact, I do believe they own part of the government, at the very least they certainly do have a slew of politicians in their deep hip pocket.

FOX will get dinged, but it won’t be anything serious. However we seem to be watching an attempt to change the old guard, that or some of the new blood is getting more outrageous as to attract attention. Case in question, Eric Bolling who currently hosts “Follow The Money” on FOX.

I’ve noticed Bolling getting more and more outlandish since we caught wind that Beck was leaving. I’m sure he was privy to that information much before we were. In any event it’s clear that Bolling is not only pushing the envelope when it comes to outlandish comments, he is outright lying. I guess no one told him about Media Matters and other fact checking progressive machines that specifically monitor the lying right. Believe me, FOX has plenty of fodder for Media Matters.

As I said Bolling’s an offensive “POL”, plain old liar! Here are some of his gems.

On his show “Follow The Money,” Bolling criticized Obama’s visit with Ali Bongo, the president of Gabon, by saying, “Guess who’s coming to dinner? A dictator. Mr. Obama shares a laugh with one of Africa’s kleptocrats. It’s not the first time he’s had a hoodlum in the hizzouse.”

As he said “hizzouse,” a picture of rapper Common appeared on the screen. Common’s appearance at a White House poetry event drew loud complaints from conservatives.

Later, Bolling made similar comments. “What’s with all the hoods in the hizzy?” he asked, saying that Bongo has been “accused of human rights violations and plundering billions of his country’s dollars.”

Mr. Obama, you’ve decided that chugging a few 40s and rediscovering you’re Irish is more important than a presidential visit to a community trying to figure out what just hit them.

Discussing Obama’s budget proposal, Bolling stated: “How does increasing taxes count as spending cuts in your world, Mr. Obama? Maybe in Kenya, but certainly not here.

” Following the release of Obama’s long-form birth certificate, Bolling claimed that the birth certificate’s “green border” “had to be Photoshopped in.”

Here is what we should do: privatize [TSA]. Fire them all. Let independent companies come in, take it over, and then do this: aggressive profiling, not just behavioral profiling, cultural profiling as well. Get the airways safe again.

The May 11, 2009, edition of Fox Business’ Happy Hour featured a graphic of various politicians pictured around a baseball diamond. When pointing to Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), who is openly gay, Bolling said that Frank was “appropriately positioned … catching, of course.

On the June 2, 2011, edition of Fox & Friends, Bolling said that Commerce Secretary nominee John Bryson “is so pro-green” that “you could almost call him an eco-terrorist.

Following the Deepwater Horizon explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, Bolling suggested on the May 3, 2010, edition of Fox & Friends that the Obama administration might have “let” the rig leak before “address[ing] it.” On the May 27, 2010, edition of Happy Hour, Bolling again wondered if Obama “let” the rig leak so he “could renege on his promise … to allow some offshore drilling.”

I could go on and on with quotes and instances of this low life’s offensive rhetoric and lies, but let’s get to the video of Bolling demeaning a woman and calling her a kid. I mean if he doesn’t respect one minority, people of color, why should he respect another, women.

The discussion got a bit testy when Bolling referred to his guest as “kid” and she later responded mockingly back to him as “dad.” Yet the most heated moment came when Heldman admitted “Democrats are using a bit of hyperbole” by claiming Social Security checks won’t go out if the debt ceiling isn’t raised. Bolling exploded in response and demonstrated his own hyperbole:

“You just called that hyperbole? Because I call it threatening, fear-mongering, putting a hatchet over a chicken’s head.”

Then Bolling’s biggest and best lie of all. With demagogue and ex White House Spokesperson under Bush’s regime, Dana Perino sitting right smack next to him, Bolling let loose with,

“America was certainly safe between 2000 and 2008,” he said. “I don’t remember any attacks on American soil during that period of time.”

Perino throws a fit because Bob Beckel a Democratic strategist and FOX News contributor refers to Bush’s outright lies about WMD’s in Iraq which as we all know misled congress and launched us into a war based on misinformation, which in turn led to our current state of affairs, trillions in debt to a communist country. Hell, our founding fathers must be turning in their graves right about now. Yet, Perino does not say a damn word about Bolling’s great lie.

I’m telling you, this Republican machine called FOX News is tantamount to a terrorist organization with deep pockets cloaked in the American flag.

So is Bolling the new Glenn Beck? Willing to risk his career by spewing offensive racist comments and lies to rise to the top of the pond scum called right wing political television, or as some call it, FOX News?

We continue to pray for Gabrielle Giffords who as we all know is the victim of a gunshot wound rendered by a psychotic constituent known for his bizarre behavior. It appears that Jared Lee Loughner had an obsession with the District eight congresswoman.

There’s been so much talk about what might have triggered his violent behavior. Some pointed to the extreme violence inciting rhetoric coming from the right, and in particular from leading voices for the social conservative movement such as Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. Others claimed he was a ticking time bomb and that red flags were ignored. In any event, on that tragic day in January, Loughner not only shot a Democratic leader and life long Tucsonan, he extinguished the lives of six people including a Federal judge and a nine year old child.

As Gabby recovers at a remarkable speed, Republicans prepare to challenge her for district eight’s congressional seat, while Democrats scramble to examine their shallow bench.

As we watched pictures released of Gabrielle Giffords today, we observed her wonderful smile and the sparkle in her eyes. Her recovery seems absolutely miraculous. However, we know what the Republicans are thinking.

The country is watching attentively, many of us continue to pray for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ full recovery. In any event, politics aside, Gabby’s return to Washington as Tucson’s district eight representative would be best for Tucsonans. This would allow at least partial restoration of what was in place before that tragic day on January 8, 2011. You know, the day the entire country came to a grinding halt after a mad man followed through on his diabolical plan, incited or not, by the right.
