Valley of the Moon Gets Greener!

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

Tucson’s historic Valley of the Moon received a wonderful gift recently from another non-profit corporation, Half-Price Carbon Credits.  The Company donated over 70 new plants, shrubs, and trees to the Moon for beautification and to improve the carbon credits of the area.

Brian Davis, President of the non-profit, and Mike Cortez, Vice President of the company, founded the organization as a benefit to the community with the sole purpose of helping to make the planet a greener place to live. They found the simplest method to offset the harmful effects from Carbon Dioxide is simply to plant more trees and plants.

The process effectively captures atmospheric Carbon Dioxide and turns it into plant matter that is the reverse of what happens when coal is burned. Half-Price Carbon Credits plans on becoming the leader in the industry giving back to Mother Nature. With sponsorships and fundraisers they are hoping to donate to schools, parks, businesses and to who ever needs to go green. Their website: http://www.halfpricecarboncredits.com (more…)

A new exciting mural has recently been completed on the South Wall of the ART GALLERY on 1122 N. Stone Ave. It is about the Dia De Los Muertos tradition.  The teen-age artists producing the mural were members of the Art in Reality Program Aerosol Art Class.
