Arizona Sculpture Society was formed to allow individuals to further explore their individual creativity outside of a classroom  environment.  Members are allowed studio time and use of studio tools and equipment to create their own artworks.  Membership in the society provides the opportunity to interact, share ideas, and build associations with other artists.

Industria Studios, Inc. was founded in 2003 by local artists to provide a non-competitive, educational 5000 sq, ft. working studio complete with tools , machinery for sculptural fabrication, ceramics, foundry, and a forge.

ISI offers numerous courses and workshop opportunities for individuals to explore the fine arts through short-term affordable classes. The classes include Sculpture (Multiple types from bronze casting to kinetics), 2-D Painting including making your own canvases, Photography, and a special course on Designing & Building Musical Instruments.

The open house art event will be held at the Industria Studios location this coming Saturday, January 30 beginning at 4:00 PM. The address of the ISI studios is 1441 E. 17th Street, Tucson. Thanks Jeff I have corrected the address and placed a map also. It should be a  very interesting event for Tucson.

A rare chance to witness this fascinating artform during it’s creation.

M.May, you are right. I hope lots of people come out and watch the demonstration as the process is not a simple one to do. If more people understood just how much effort it takes to make a polished bronze they would never question the price charged. It is definitely a “labor of love.”

The band “Still Life With Telescope” will also be performing.

Thanks Pete, I look forward to hearing your band. If I would have known before the article went up I would have been happy to include the group’s name in the entertainment. It should be an exciting event.

Thanks, Charles.  I realize that.   We were a last-minute addition and our information was late.  Thanks for letting us play.
        And I guess that’s with a small “w”…
