The diabolical Dr. Horrible is on the brink of joining The Evil League of Evil, as long as that do-gooder Captain Hammer doesn’t show up, and that cute girl at the Laundromat comes back… Enjoy a night of music and adventure under the stars, as ‘Once More With Feeling players’ presents Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-
The show is about Dr. Horrible, an aspiring super villain with his own video blog, is attempting to join the prestigious Evil League of Evil (led by the legendary “thoroughbred of sin”, Bad Horse), but his plans are foiled by the egotistical superhero Captain Hammer. Horrible’s life is thrown for a loop when he falls in love with Penny, a beautiful and optimistic advocate for the homeless he meets at the Laundromat, a situation which complicates itself even further when Penny begins dating the boorish, oafish Hammer after he apparently saves her life. Faced with the task of impressing the League, can Horrible overcome his own incompetence to ruin the day, kill the hero, and still get the girl?
Once More With Feeling is an all-volunteer shadow cast of actors who perform Josh Whedon musicals (Dr. Horrible, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and original cast-written scripts. In the tradition of Rocky Horror and REPO, OMWF acts out the scenes as they happen on the big screen, while the audience is encouraged to participate by singing or adding/changing dialog. The main goal is to make the experience more fun for everyone.
All proceeds go to support the Valley of the Moon, a non-profit historic fantasy fairyland garden, an all volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the historic sculptures, and a philosophy that “Happiness is Given and Not Sold.”
***NOTE: in an earlier version of this article it included a story reading and other events that were to happen during the day. The information unfortunately sent to me was from a January event that has already happened. There is a photoshoot happening Thurs- Saturday but is an appointment only event for mothers and daughters. Sorry for the confusion.
