Great Art, Great Food at The Art Institute of Tucson!
Wednesday, August 4th, 2010Recently I discovered a great art exhibition in progress at The Art Institute of Tucson Gallery. I was having lunch at what I consider one of the best dining experiences in Tucson, the Ai Bistro, when someone suggested viewing the excellent art show in their gallery. The Bistro is located at the southeast wing of the main campus building. That day I got to experience the “culinary arts” and the “visual arts” and both deserve a visit.
The present art exhibition is by the staff and faculty of this unique art and design school. Being a professional artist myself for over 22 years, I am very impressed with the curriculum at The Art Institute of Tucson. It is a school that a person with artistic talents can actually be trained to earn a living with their creative talents upon graduating. I have many artist friends with MFAs that were not allowed to discuss the business of art in their curriculum and consequentially have had a hard time making a living doing what they love.
Below is a small sample of what you will see at this fine art exhibit. Numerous media are represented.
