Follow Alice and the White Rabbit into Wonderland on a fantastic journey to meet the Cheshire Cat and the Caterpillar in Valley of the Moon’s production of Tales of Alice in Wonderland on Sept 4th at 7:30 PM. The production is based upon the classic story. Admission is Free.

Tucson’s historic Valley of the Moon was created by George Phar Legler in the 1920’s as a fantasyland for children of all ages 2-80. As many Tucsonans know it is a very special place where your imagination is stimulated and one feels they were transported to a magical fairyland occupied by Gnomes and flying fairies. The park is two and one-half acres of winding paths, secret gardens, mythic statues, and stone fairy houses and its performances take place throughout the park.

IF you haven’t been there recently you will notice some very exciting changes.  You will see the relocated sculptures from the closed Magic Carpet Golf property. The Pygmy Hut, The Castle, The Old Stump and The Spider Web are now concreted into their permanent location and beautifully landscaped in the front part of the park.

Over 150 various plants and trees have been planted to add a special beauty to the already magical atmosphere The amphitheater has been replanted and is now a beautiful green lawn available for various outdoor functions once again in front of the performance area.  It can accommodate over 200 people.

Can you imagine anything more exciting than being married in a magical place like this?  It is now encouraging weddings, birthday parties, company functions, and special events.

Since 1923, Valley of the Moon has been spreading the message “Kindness to All is the Golden Key to Happiness!”  If you haven’t experienced the Valley of the Moon’s magic yet then it’s time to take the family and escape into this safe magical world. The FREE performance  this Saturday is a great time to do this.  You won’t be disappointed.

The park is still going through major renovations and has a need now for professional electrical help. They have recently filled in a portion of the caves that had become a problem causing the path to the Enchanted Garden be closed. It will re-open next year. The performing area in front of the Eerie Tower, has been repaired and has a new lighting system installed. The Valley of the Moon is run totally by volunteers and has no paid staff so they are always in need of volunteers and donations.

The TALES OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND will be performed this Saturday at the historic Valley of the Moon and it’s FREE. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to enjoy this famous children’s fantasyland together and see a very unique performance.
