Summer In The City Fundraiser Event

The local artist run non-profit organization, Industria Studios, is having a fundraiser event Saturday at their studio location. If it is anything like their previous events it will be exciting. This year’s event is titled: SUMMER IN THE CITY.

 

Industria Studios is a working professional studio and education center. The mission of Industria Studios is to be a dynamic and innovative place for the community to experience the creative processes of fine art and to provide a challenging environment for individuals interested in art as an intellectual and transformative pursuit.

 

The non-profit organization offers many opportunities for persons of all ages. They will be learning from and working directly with producing and exhibiting artists of various media, including sculpture, life casting, metal, clay, painting, and photography.

 

Summer in the City is a fundraising event featuring music by A Son Y Sol, Anarchestra, and Fafi A.K.A. 3Percent backed by Key Ingredients of African Soul and MamAxé.

 

There also will be a performance by Collective Alchemy Circus Performers, and others.  Visitors will be able to experience bronze-pouring, blacksmithing and art demonstrations.  There is an art exhibition and sale as well as a silent auction & raffle.

 

Food and drink will be for sale. Admission is $10

Music! Music! Music! At The Valley Of The Moon Every Saturday In November!

Top Dead Center performing

November is going to be a great musical month at the historic Valley of the Moon and the public is invited to these performances. The proceeds from ticket sales will help to restore the historic magical sculptures of the late George Phar Legler. This magical fantasyland has been in Tucson since the 1920s.

The first event of this month’s music festival will be held this coming Saturday November 6 from 12 pm until dark featuring Mid-Evil Blues.  On Saturday November 13 the Jitterbugs will be entertaining the crowd, the Wyatts on Saturday November 20 and on the last Saturday of the month November 27, the Top Dead Center will be playing.

ADMISSION: $10 at the door and if you bring two cans of food for the food bank you get $2 off admission.

HOURS: 12 Noon until dusk each Saturday in November.

BRING the family for a day of music, arts & crafts, and great food for lots of fun in the sun.

Industria Studios Is Having Gala Fundraiser Saturday July 31

Bronze Pour at Industria Studios

The local Tucson non-profit Industria Studios is having a big fundraiser this Saturday titled: Hot Fun in the Summertime! There will be art auctions, bronze pouring demonstrations, blacksmithing , life body castings, music, and theatrical performances.

Industria Studios Inc. was founded in 2003 by local artists to provide a non-competitive educational and working studio. Six years later they became a non)profit 501c3 corporation with a 5000 square foot studio loaded with tools, machinery for sculptural fabrication, ceramics foundry, and a forge for bronze casting.  In 2009 Industria established Tucson’s first sculptors guild named Arizona Sculpture Society.

Industria Studio’s main mission is to enhance the educational experience for the arts community and to increase involvement and participation of the fine arts. It is dedicated to increasing the awareness, activities, and appreciation for fine arts among the community

Bronze Pour at Industria Studios

The Arizona Sculpture Society was formed to allow individuals to further explore themselves and their individual creativity outside of a classroom environment. Members are allowed studio time and use of studio tools and equipment to develop and create their own artworks. Membership in the society provides the opportunity to interact, share ideas and build associations with other artists.

Industria’s Hot Fun in the Summertime open house and fundraiser will take place from 6:00 PM – 10 PM at their studio location: 1441 E. 17th Street, Tucson, AZ 85719. Music will be provided by Anarchestra, A Son Y Sol A and SSS. Theatrical performances are by Tucson Puppet Works and the Parasol Project. Members of the Arizona Sculpture Society will conduct the Bronze pouring demonstrations.

A $10 donation is requested at the door for Admission.
