The lines of the CD2 district will be essentially the same, with just NW Pima & SE Pinal Counties removed and a bit more of central Tucson added. I think who’s ever the CD8 incumbent will have an edge in the CD2 race in the fall. Actually, it’s probably more accurate to say whoever looses in the CD8 special election will be an underdog in the CD2 race. If Kelly loses it would be his second straight loss for the seat and Republicans will likely turn to someone else. If Barber loses Democrats will also likely turn to someone else.
