Today, Nov. 5, is Guy Fawkes Day, the 405th annual English celebration of the failed assassination of King James I in the “Gunpowder Plot.”Throughout Great Britain tonight, people will celebrate by torching effigies of Fawkes, who is synonymous with the foiled plot.

This summer, the modern-day King James, basketball star LeBron James, was also the target of his fiefdoms ire and fire when he eschewed his home state Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat via free agency.

There are many similarities between LeBron and the original King James. To celebrate Guy Fawkes Day, let’s take a look back:
