Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden is a former New York Yankee farmhand and a member of an annual fraternity of young players who get traded by the Bronx Bombers for an aging, overpaid veteran.

In Weeden’s case, he was part of the deal that landed combustible pitcher Kevin Brown in pinstripes.

Perhaps its time Arizona placekicker Alex Zendejas re-converts back to a soccer player. Zendejas connected on just one of his three field goal attempts.

Microsoft Word’s suggested corrective spelling for “Zendejas”: Endearing.

Sound more like an antonym to Wildcat fans.

Speaking of Zendejas — who infamously had two crucial extra points blocked against Arizona State — the Wildcat kicker’s woes might have spread to the Cowboys’ Dan Bailey, who missed an easy PAT against Arizona.

Journalism hit a new low on Wednesday night when ESPN commentators used the term “Sugar Momma” during a broadcast.

OKLAHOMA STATE, 11-2: The Cowboys’ No. 1-ranked offense in the nation didn’t miss a beat. That is to say, sophomore wide receiver Justin Blackmon didn’t miss a beat or a catch or a chance to burn the Arizona defense. The Biletnikoff Award winner as the nation’s top receiver and Big 12 offensive player of the year had two touchdowns and 117 yards and set an NCAA record with 12 straight games with at least 100 yards and a touchdown.
