Current and former University of Arizona athletes are always making news and not always in traditional mediums. We scoured the Internet and found Wildcats online by visiting these lynx
University of Arizona alum Rob Gronkowski grabbed some headlines — on a slow-news day — after the New England tight end apologized on Wednesday to Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft for a picture recently Tweeted of Gronk posing with adult film star Bibi Jones. Gronkowski reportedly met Jones while enjoying some free time during the Pats’ bye week last.
“I didn’t intend anything to hurt the reputation of anyone on the New England Patriots or on behalf of Robert Kraft. It was just a simple picture, and that’s all.”
Gronk Nation, the Facebook page for Gronkowski brothers Rob, Chris and Dan also weighed in on the pseudo-controversy Wednesday night.
“It was just a pic – nothing happened.”
Curiously, the Facebook page followed that response with this post four minutes later:
“The spirit of a hustler and the swagger of a college kid.”
A national debate is brewing whether or not Gronkowski did anything wrong and should have offered an apology.

No one wins in Wildcat-on-Wildcat crime. Er that is to say Giacomo Miccini wins in Wildcat-on-Wildcat crime. Miccini outlasted his Arizona tennis teammate Carlos Bermudez to win the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Regional Singles Consolation title on Tuesday. The last two men standing at the 16-school, 128-player tournament in Las Vegas on Sunday, Miccini and Bermudez decided to take a travel day and finish the tournament on their home court in Tucson. Miccini won 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
