Bear Down…and Blog!
Current and former University of Arizona athletes are always making news and not always in traditional mediums. We scoured the Internet and found Wildcats online by visiting these lynx…
For just the third time in the last decade, the NBA Finals will not feature at least one former Arizona Wildcat. The Boston Celtics made sure of that on Saturday night, eliminating Andre Iguodala and the Philadelphia 76ers in Game Seven of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
It’s the first time a title matchup didn’t include an ex-Wildcat since 2007, when the San Antonio Spurs swept the Cleveland Cavaliers.
All told, 11 Arizona alums laced up their sneakers for this year’s abbreviated hoops season. Five of them made the playoffs. Iggy was the last one representing Tucson after the Oklahoma City Thunder bounced Jordan Hill and the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.
I been thru ALOT this season and I tried my best to overcome those things..thanks to the fans and my team..much love to yall #LakerNation

Iguodala averaged 12.9 PPG and 5. 7 rebounds and had 19 steals in the 76ers’ 13 games. He’s averaging 13.6 PPG in five trips to the playoffs.
His two free throws with 2.2 seconds left sealed the Sixers’ upset of the No. 1 seeded Chicago Bulls.
Great fight by the bulls. Gotta respect them. Good series my man luol deng

Last year’s NBA Finals saw Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks defeat Mike Bibby of the Miami Heat to become the first ex-Cat to win both an NCAA and NBA title.
Iguodala, who made his first NBA All-Star team this season, is already the subject of trade rumors that would land the ex-Wildcat in Los Angeles with the Lakers.
I’m convinced now more than ever of the extreme power of positive thinking!

Hopefully the former Wildcat swimmer still feels that way days after this Tweet when South Africa decided against sending a 4X200 Freestyle Relay team to the 2012 Olympics, thus nullifying his spot in the pool at the Summer Games.

I’ve seen the movie of which the Wildcat punter speaks. It’s called “Interception.”

D’oh! Next up, the Arizona alum will trot out ”Paynter” to try to thwart “I’ll Have Another’s” run at Triple Crown history at the Belmont.

The pools are much warmer there than in Colorado, perfect for a former Olympic swim standout.
