Former Wildcat Iguodala named to US Olympic Teamby Christopher C. Wuensch on Jul. 07, 2012, under Sports
An All-Star season is about to become an all-world year for Andre Iguodala.
Team USA named the University of Arizona alum and current Philadelphia 76ers forward to its 2012 Olympic squad on Sunday.
Iguodala is just the second former Wildcat to play for Team USA, joining UA alum Richard Jefferson.
Jefferson and the 2004 team returned from Greece with bronze medals.
Iggy, the eight-year NBA veteran, averaged 12.4 ppg and 6.1 rebounds this season, en route to his first All-Star game appearance.
Team USA tips-off the London Games with a preliminary round matchup on July 29 against France.
Very honored to be selected to 2012 USA men’s basketball team. Thanks to all fans and supports for prayers.
