Arizona football’s Sione Tuihalamaka teaches us the Haka danceby Christopher C. Wuensch on Aug. 28, 2012, under Sports
The Haka Dance is becoming a popular pre-game ritual for many football teams, especially those with players with island ties. The ancient war cry originated with the Maori people of New Zealand and swept its way across the Pacific Rim to the football fields of the United States.
The University of Arizona football team has it’s own version of the Haka.
We’ll let defensive lineman Sione Tuihalamaka, who proudly boasts his Tongan heritage, take us through the steps.
