There are more than 20 athletes with ties to Tucson looking to make some noise in the pools and on the tracks, courts and fields of London at the XXX Olympic Games. They’re also sounding off on Twitter:

Wildcat alum Andre Iguodala and Team USA appear to be barreling toward a basketball gold medal – as long as they play Nigeria every game. USA outscored Nigeria on Aug. 2 by 83 points. Nine of those points belonged to Iggy, who hit all three of his 3-point attempts. Team USA takes on Lithuania on Aug. 4.

 

-The man known as Cliznark took home a sixth-place finish in the men’s 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:09.25.  

- The Arizona trainer is married to Team USA and UA alum Jill Camarena-Williams.

 

- The Tucson native and Cal Golden Bear won the first medal of her career, a bronze, in the 200-meter individual medley.
