Week 7 HS football rankingsShowdowns this week between Salpointe/Ironwood Ridge and Palo Verde/Sahuarita are sure to force some changes in next week's poll. And while I wouldn't say the outcomes of the Amphi at Santa Rita or Canyon del Oro at Catalina Foothills game are in question, I anticipate performances in those games will have a lot to say with next week's poll, even for the teams that lose. Foothills, Tucson High students win state titlesCatalina Foothills sophomore girls golfer Erin McClure, 15, won the Junior Golf Association of Arizona PING Junior Masters (15-18 regular division) in Tempe held Monday ant Tuesday. McClure shot a two day total of 159 (80-79) on the 6,640-yard ASU Karsten Golf Course. McClure edged Foothills teammante Brittany McKee for the title. Tucson High's Derek Laporte won the boys 15-18 championship with a 5-over-par 145 (75-70). More » |
