Tie for McCain?

For the moment, at least, I'll let the pundits pummel each other over who won the debate between Obama and McCain. One thing I'll go on the record with, though: McCain's tie was just about the worst sartorial gaffe I've ever seen by a presidential wannabe. More »

Need Tuition? Sell your virginity

I guess you have to give her credit for creativity, but a 22-year-old San Diego woman auctioning her virginity to raise fund to get her master's degree in marriage and family therapy still seems like a bad idea. Although, according to some reports, she's not the first to have done so. More »

How long it takes the president to give a someone a medal

When President Bush came to Tucson on July 18, he paused briefly – very, very briefly – to  give the President's Volunteer Service Award to Mary Frances Ward, a retired educator who spends time tutoring local school kids and who spent a good half hour waiting at the foot of the Air Force One stairs. Here is the video (sorry about the bad camera work - there was a lot of jostling for position). Don't blink or you will miss him giving her the medal ... Brad More »
