Week 9 HS football rankings

Very little movement in this week's rankings, and I don't expect much for next week's either as I think just one team in the top 10 will lose, and that comes in the Sabino/Cienega game.

After the Oct. 31 games, however, there could be some shakeup with such matchups as Santa Rita at Palo Verde, Ironwood Ridge at Sunnyside and Amphi at Sahuarita.

The only change for the week was dropping Palo Verde from No. 6 to No. 7, swapping with a Sunnyside team coming off a dominating performance in which it held Casa Grande to 5 yards of total offense.

i know amphi is a good team , but they have a losing record at 3-4 . it won't say in the win or loses standings , lost to PV and to SR but controlled the clock. you lose you lose right... whether its by 3 or by 40

You have to have 3-4 Tucson still knocking if you have catalina and Amphi in with 4 losses. Only one of Tucsons losses wasnt close and it was against number 2 in the state. Also in their division Santa Rita is playing much better than Salpointe. CDo is also up on salpointe. So with my changes

1.Ironwood Ridge
2.Santa Rita
3.Canyon Del oro
4.Salpointe
5.Cienaga
6.Sunnyside
7.Palo Verde
8.Sabino
9.Empire(this team is doing to well not to get recognized i realize the division number is low)
10.Amphi

Knocking:Nogales,Tucson High,Sahuarita

if you have a losing record , you have a losing record. I don't see how you get "points" for losing to a better team. And shouldn't get penalized for beating the teams your supposed to beat.

according to the power point system that determines playoffs playing harder teams does have its benefits....50 points for each game your team wins and 5 points earned each time one of the ten teams you play against during the season wins a game. Example say you win your game in week 3 and 4 of your season opponents wins their games that week. 50 points + 20 points for your opposing teams wins =70 total points that week. So in all reality you do gain more points for having a harder schedule.
