Former Arizona basketball recruit Abdul Gaddy, who was to be the top prize in a highly rated recruiting class, has committed to Washington, according to internet sites.
Gaddy, from Tacoma, Wash., de-committed from Arizona last weekend in the wake of the retirement of head coach Lute Olson. Forwards Mike Moser and Solomon Hill had earlier backed out of their commitments from what was shaping up to be a top 10 class.
Gaddy, a point guard rated the 13th-best overall player in
the senior class by Rivals.com, said he will sign next month with the Huskies
and coach Lorenzo Romar. Gaddy also considered UCLA.
"Coach Romar has proven himself," Gaddy told Rivals.com. "Look at the success of Nate Robinson and Brandon Roy. Going to Washington gives me a great chance to do what I want to do."
