Down go last week's No. 1 and No. 3 teams after road losses.
Maybe more significant than the movement of the teams in the top 7 (I imagine there will be plenty of debate about which teams are where), is the fact that I have finally put Tucson High – TUCSON HIGH – into the poll. A team which ended a 25-game losing streak in September, a team that has a 20-year playoff drought, a team nobody has given much love to in years has rightfully earned its opportunity to be considered one of the top 10 teams in southern Arizona.
Foothills is coming off a win, but I felt I had to drop them out of the top 10 this week because I was more impressed with Tucson High's road win in which it went up 35-0 at Casa Grande, than I was with Foothills solid, but not dominating win over Pueblo.
The fact Tucson High is even in the conversation is quite possibly the story of the year. The Badgers have a shot at winning a region title at Salpointe on Friday night. Who would have ever guessed that?
