Evette A. Ortiz, 32, was killed when she lost control of her car and smashed into a South Side light pole, a Tucson police spokeswoman said.
Ortiz had been driving her 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix east on East Irvington Road, near South Tucson Boulevard, when she lost control and hit the pole around 4:30 a.m., Officer Linda Galindo said.
Detectives are investigating if speed was a factor, Galindo said.
