Seems like we have a pretty bad population base that just seems to like to want to go to jail.

Is it that they make “poor choices” or “lack personal responsibility” or both?  I am aware that these are the only possible explanations for untoward events in the lives of the other, so I offer only these two for consideration.

You would. Isnt the world a wonderful thing. Sweetness and light.
Just seems like the people in North Dakota have figured it out. Good choices. Far too many people in this valley are as dunb as dirt.

I checked into a few facts. We have a population of 6 million. We have over 36,000 inmates. Those are old figures. I bet there are more and God knows how many out of state.
North Dakota has a population of 650,000….1/10 of the population of Arizona. They have 1,112 citizens in jail. About one out of every 650 citizens.
We have 1 out of every 1,805 citizens in jail. Three times the amount.
I figure we need a better class of people to move here.

“As the social scientist Glenn C. Loury points out, with 5 percent of the world’s population, the United States imprisons 25 percent of all humans behind bars. This effectively created a vibrant shadow economy: American spending on the criminal justice system went from $33 billion in 1980 to $216 billion in 2010 — an increase of 660 percent. Criminal justice is the third largest employer in the country.”
