Grand opening of Repower Arizona
by Carolyn Classen on Oct. 21, 2009, under Life, PoliticsRepower Arizona, a campaign of the Alliance for Climate Protection (founded by former Vice President Al Gore in 2006) is having their Grand Opening celebration at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, October 22. They are located at 2233 E. Speedway, between Campbell and Tucson Blvd. on the north side, in the Prescott College building.
The Alliance is a “unique non-profit, non-partisan organization that is committed to educating the global community about the urgency of implementing comprehensive solutions to the climate crisis.”
The celebration will feature state Representative Steve Farley (LD 28) who will “formally launch a new phase of our field campaign supporting clean energy legislation thanks to this ground presence in Tucson.” Repower Arizona appears to be a part of the nationwide Repower America project.
Repower Arizona’s task is to educate Arizonans on “the benefits of transitioning to a clean energy economy, including providing a greener future for our children, bringing thousands of new jobs to Arizona, and helping to end our deep dependence on foreign oil.”
