“Taiko is the artistic, powerful, and physically demanding discipline of Japanese ensemble drumming. Odaiko Sonora, southern Arizona’s premiere Japanese drumming ensemble, will perform in this 40-minute Japanese drumming lecture & demo. Learn about the history and development of the art form, Japanese culture and taiko instrumentation.”
I’ve heard this talented group perform over the years, and most recently at the 8th Annual Japanese Speech Contest in Tucson at the PCC Northwest Campus. If you haven’t heard taiko drumming before, you’re in for a musical treat!
