View Republican Gubernatorial debate online (Citizens Clean Elections Commission)

by on Jun. 18, 2010, under Life, Politics

Interested in viewing online the recent Arizona Citizens Clean Election Commission (CCEC) debate between the Republican Gubernatorial candidates?

Debating for one hour at the June 15 CCEC sponsored debate in Phoenix were Governor Jan Brewer, State Treasurer Dean Martin, millionaire businessman Buz Mills, and political scientist Dr. Matt Jette. Brewer and Dean are running “clean” election campaigns, Mills and Jette are traditionally funded. Candidates Tom Gordan and John Munger have withdrawn.

The other statewide CCEC debates in Phoenix between the candidates running for Attorney General, Treasurer, Corporation Commission, and Superintendent of Public Instruction will be online at this CCEC website as well, supposedly within 72 hours of the live debates. Here’s the upcoming schedule for those candidates:

June 22 Republicans Attorney General
June 23 Democrats Attorney General
June 29 Republicans Superintendent of Public Instruction
June 30 Democrats Superintendent of Public Instruction
July 6 Republicans Treasurer
July 20 Republicans Corporation Commission
July 21 Democrats Corporation Commission

These debates are all necessary for participating candidates to receive Clean Election funding prior to the August 24 Arizona primary.

View these videos to educate yourself about all the candidates running for statewide offices in the primary. This may be your only chance to see these candidates debate each other. Some other debates for contested legislative Arizona Senate and House offices are also online at this website now.

Watch this lively Gubernatorial debate, and then decide.

    I see it’s your passion. :)

With Treasurer Dean Martin suspending his candidacy yesterday, that would only leave millionaire  businessman Buz Mills and political scientist Dr. Matt Jette to challenge Governor Brewer. Will either of these drop out before August 24?

  • Carolyn Classen

Buz Mills has suspended his Gubernatorial campaign today, which only leaves political newcomer Jette to face Governor Brewer in the August 24 primary. So in answer to the question under my previous comment of July 10th: yes, one more candidate just dropped out.

Dr. Matt Jette, the only Republican challenger left of Governor Brewer told the Arizona Daily Star he’s in to stay, through the 8/24 Primary:

    (Good for him).

Cheers to you for speaking the truth.

Al Simmons, I take it you mean about Dr. Jette for staying in the Gubernatorial debate?  I think it wise for him to remain as a political newcomer, due to the reasons he joined this race in the first place, and since all the others have dropped out, he might as well stay in to challenge the Governor’s positions on issues.

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.
