Former TUSD Superintendent (and nearby Menlo Park resident) Roger Pfeuffer was the master of ceremonies, saying that Tucson was the “soul of Arizona”. Other speakers were Ward 1 Councilmember Regina Romero, Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias, Peg Weber (City P & R Dept.), Diana Hadley (regarding Arizona State Museum map of the site), and Linda Ray for Tucson’s Birthday Planners. They spoke of the necessity of preserving Tucson’s history at that site, and for education of the future generations to come. Councilmember Karin Uhlich was also in attendance.
