As previously reported, the DREAM Act did not advance in the U.S. Senate this morning (click here).

Note the three Republicans (Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana, Senator Bob Bennett of Utah and Senator Lisa Murkowski of Arkansas) who voted aye, and “Independent Democrat” Senator Joe Lieberman (Connecticut) and Independent Senator Bernie Sanders (Vermont) as well.
Note the 5 Democrats who voted nay. 60 votes were needed on the aye side
for the measure to invoke cloture, which would have concluded debate on the matter so it could proceed to a vote for or against passage.
