Rodeo Days Weekend Southwest Artists Show

The longer version flyer I got last night pictures some of the beautiful art of the artists who will be exhibiting tomorrow:

I’ve been to Ron Nelson‘s alley studio on 524 Ferro Avenue (just north of E. 6th Street) and his work is amazing and beautiful, yet made “entirely of recycled materials: shredded newspaper, house paint, and reused pieces of wood for framing.”

    This is my first year in Tucson. I went to the rodeo which was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. This exhibit was the cherry on the sundae of my Rodeo weekend.  I almost didn’t find out about this – I think it could use more publicity.

      Welcome to Tucson Emmit.Not sure how this artist group publicized themselves, but I just got handed a flyer on Thursday night,  and I saw this listing in the Tucson Weekly under “Art”.  Stay tuned, as I am updating a publication/news media blog I wrote in August 2009, entitled “Under the Tucson Sun” for people to find community events (lots to do here).
