Thanks, but I think it may be a Catch 22 situation for them at Lani’s – financial trouble with no extra $ to spend on advertising, thus people don’t know they are there at Harrison/Golf Links.

MMM, Meet Me At Maynard’s on Monday night also has free drawing for gift certificates at various businesses. Even though they are far east, donating a $25.00 free gift certificate would give them some recognition. They don’t advertise, (Im’ sure it’s a cost issue) but $25.00 is cheap PR and might help.

All hands on deck! Go eat at Lani’s Luau. Then, go back and eat again. Repeat this process often. The food is first-rate, as are the people. This is the kind of restaurant you WANT to have in your neighborhood.

If that’s not enough motivation for you, how about this: do you really want to get on the wrong side of Carolyn Classen? Me neither.

I wish them well. Owning a restaurant is a hard business and the statistics of failure are great. Do they advertise? It pays to advertise. For them, I recommend the Thursday east side insert of Arizona Daily Star as it’s geographically correct. Maybe the Davis-Monthan rag (I forget what it’s called). Of all the cuisines out there, I don’t think I have ever eaten Hawaiian.
