    Carolyn:
How about some numbers as to how many of the people mentioned live in Tucson. These are a vibrant and contributing ethnic groups that have embraced our community. We should embrace them too.

Pima County stats from  2010 Census list Asian American population at 2.7%, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islanders at 0.2%, so the total of this community is about 3.0% (about the same for the State of Arizona).   See: http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/04/04019.html.

Yeah, go ahead and try to embrace a “Pacific Islander” especially a couple hours after a wedding…Make sure some one has a camera for you tube later.

Heres’ a health coalition idea…. Stop the Tonk game, put down the cards and the Spam and walk out into the “back yard” and clean up that scrap heap.

Reports from this AAPI Health Coalition is that lots of people showed up for medical assistance/information, mostly from Bhutanese/Nepalese, Vietnamese and Marshallese communities here in Tucson.  Congratulations to all those who helped with this successful fair.
