Recall State Senator Russell Pearce campaign needs help

by on May. 15, 2011, under Life, Politics

Citizens for a Better Arizona headed by their Co-founder & former Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Randy Parraz met in Tucson today to report on the Recall State Senator Russell Pearce campaign. About 1500 more signatures from LD 18 Mesa voters are needed by the May 31 deadline.

Parraz spoke before a group of about 40 Southern Arizonans about how he started up the campaign in February. He said that this would be “historic times” if the recall does occur. About $25,000 have been raised to assist their campaign to date.

The meeting was held at the home of Mohur Sidhwa, former candidate for LD 28 House. In attendance were LD 28 State Senator Paula Aboud, LD 29 House Rep. Sally Ann Gonzales, former Assistant Attorney General Vince Rabago, former LD 25 House Rep. Pat Fleming, and Jim Marsh (election integrity advocate for the Libertarian Party). A previous fundraising meeting was held by LD 29 State Senator Linda Lopez in Tucson.

Here’s info from the Citizens for a Better Arizona website of this recall petition process:

Pearce was elected State Senate President shortly after his November election. This is his 2nd term in AZ State Senate, having served before in the Arizona House of Representatives.

The campaign also lists the reasons for the recall:

Four Reasons to Recall and Remove Russell Pearce
1. Voted to terminate health care for seniors, struggling families and people with a disability.
2. Opposes the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
3. Voted to require American citizens show a Government ID for emergency care.
4. Opposes access to public education for all Arizona children.

Apparently Russell Pearce is more representative of the voters in his district than the recall movement organization thought.  If they have had this much time to acquire the necessary signatures and aren’t able to reach the required number to initiate the recall vote then it probably won’t happen.  Which is as it should be.   My question is, why are the recall organizers in Tucson?  The legislative district he represents is in Mesa.   Isn’t their time better spent trying to gather the signatures from the voters of that district?

The campaign committee came down to Tucson to solicit funds and volunteers for their efforts.  Parraz said that the legislative work of a State Senate President affects all of Arizona, and they have been getting help from people from all over the state and elsewhere too (i.e. Ohio).

More illegals to get help from in Tucson…

“Apparently Russell Pearce is more representative of the voters in his district than the recall movement organization thought.”

If the recall fails, is it possible we could just extirpate the entire district from the state?

You would like that. Its been done before by Stalin, your old friend. Funny how you commies and progressives like the idea of “moving  people around”. What crap.

I think recalls need a bit more excitement….
If the representative gets recalled, them and their staff must leave Arizona and never come back.
If the recall fails, the people who signed their name to the petitions must leave Arizona and never come back.
Might make people think about just throwing their name on a piece of paper (think legally binding contract) and just might make the representatives do their job better.

    Just a thought.

how did this guy ever get elected?  Arizona should be clamoring to get rid of him.

      My god are you wrong.

Peace was duly elected several times to the AZ State House in LD 18, and in 2008 to the State Senate.  His bio is here:

Oh that Randy Parraz. The one who came 5th in a 6 way race. The guy the Three Sonorans thinks is such a great leader. That Randy Parraz.

Tell me where to find a Recall Russell Pearce Petition to sign up?   Friends who are registered voters wish to know!

    Thanks!
