President Obama’s 50th Birthday Bash!

Please join the Pima County Democratic Party to celebrate the 50th birthday of President Barack Obama with beer, wine and hors d’oeuvre at one of our favorite local businesses, the Shanty.
Long form birth certificates will not be required, but a contribution of $50 would be greatly appreciated. This event is free for current Catalina Democrats.

Thursday, August 4th
5:00pm – 7:00pm

The Shanty
401 E. 9th St
(NE Corner of 9th St. and 4th Ave.)

So if you have $50 to spent on the 50th birthday celebration of President Obama, drop by The Shanty. I happen to have a long form birth certificate from Hawaii (like the President), but that’s not mandatory for entrance to this event.

    Hey Carolyn: Now that POTUS Obama has put the long form Hawaii Birth Certificate issue to rest with the rather crude 7-layer photo-shop job, I can offer him a new Social Security Card from Hawaii, instead of his present one from Connecticut, a state which he never lived or worked in. My late, and much missed uncle Wilber and I were in the ‘used’ document business for a while in the old days, before the FBI gave me an offer that I couldn’t refuse, and I retired to the newsaper rackets instead. It was either that, or playing piano at the Mastang Ranch Bordello. Since you seem to have an inside to ‘Dear Leader,’ let me know if he’s interested. — Aloha, yer Haole pal, Ferrari Bubba

    Interesting blog, Carolyn.Relevantly, as someone turning 50 years old in 2011, Obama is part of Generation Jones – that generation between the Boomers and Generation X which has been getting so much national buzz recently.  And international as well…I just read this interesting article from a couple days ago written by that prominent UK political commentator Neil Stockley (http://neilstockley.tumblr.com/post/8350965128/obama-the-debt-deal-and-the-tragedy-of-generation).  I also found this video worth watching, it’s from a couple years ago but still relevant, it has lots of top political commentators arguing that Obama is a part of Generation Jones:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ta_Du5K0jk. If you google around, you’ll find the Generation Jones concept and term has become quite widely accepted.

    Republicans were offended by Obama celebrating his birthday. Mitch McConnell said 
    “…..the fact that our president is devoting time to the human process of aging is an affront to Americans everywhere.” Frankly every time Mitch McConnell opens his mouth is an affront to me.
    Let them be offended. Let them go pound sand!
