Ted Prezelski, blogger at Rum, Romanism & Rebellion is reporting that injured Congresswoman “Gabby” Giffords will be attending the candlelight vigil at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday 1/8/12 at the UA Mall, with her husband Captain Mark Kelly, USN (Retired). Here’s the link of his article with more information about that event:

Ron Barber, her District Director will be the emcee at that vigil, with speeches by newly- elected Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and Dr. Peter Rhee, Chief, Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Emergency Surgery, The University of Arizona Medical Center. Barber himself was shot twice on January 8, 2011 and is still recovering from the wound to his leg. Captain Mark Kelly is also listed as one of the speakers at the vigil.

And when will she step down so Arizonas can be represented by the people who we elected?  It’s great that in 3 days she’ll have her 2nd appearance of a year.  Woohoo.  Step down.  Resign.  You don’t “Keep inspiring”.  You keep taking our votes away from Congress.

U.S. Congresswoman Giffords was on the job as an elected public official in her 3rd term when she was shot in the head here in Tucson (CD 8). Three of her aides were also shot, one fatally (30 year old Gabe Zimmerman). She only needs to decide on re-election by May, 2012.

Gabby has missed most votes in Congress for a year while she recovers from being shot in the line of duty. How many votes did McCain miss when he ran full time for President in 2000 and again in 2008? Michelle Bachman has missed almost every vote this year while she ran full time for President.
I live in CD8, soon to be CD2 – take all the time you need Gabby, with the Republican do nothing House, you aren’t missing much.

I’ve noticed that the same people making this complaint are often the ones complaining about Rep Grijalva when he IS representing :)

The public can wait for the monied and crazy old Foothills bats  to put her husband in.

    No story here- Move along.

Just checked Project Vote Smart and Congresswoman Michelle Bachman missed most of her votes since July 20, 2011, and Congressman Ron Paul since  September 21, 2011. Both healthy individuals were running for the Republican nomination for U.S. President, though Bachman just suspended her campaign this week. Congresswoman Giffords was shot in the head  in the line of duty, doing her job as a U.S. representative to Congress.
