Thousands of people downtown right now listening to music at the 2 stages. We heard The Tryst jazz/soul/funk/rock group, followed by Poi-zen fire dancers/breathers. Also found a reception at new clothing store Revolutio, 43 S. 6th Avenue. More fun to follow tomorrow.

1st event: Opening ceremony w/ Tucson High School Band, Mayor Rothschild reading the City’s proclamation for the Centennial, followed by music on the Pennington/6th Avenue stage. Also present: Ron Barber candidate for CD 8 House, Councilman Steve Kozachik, LD 28 Rep. Steve Farley.

Carolyn. What a great job you do for us. While it’s hard for me to get around, I intend to venture out and see some of the performances downtown. Also, I see you mentioned some downtown museums I’ve never heard of so I hope to check them out too. If you haven’t already, you might also mention the Four Corners Festival this weekend at Skyline and Campbell. Maybe I’ll see you at one of these venues. jg
