I missed the boom and I’m a little disappointed in that. Growing up, I used to hear them with some regularity. While I’m not a fan of these “be a real patriot – wave the flag and puff out your chest” events, sonic booms are a bit of nostalgia for me.

This use to happen everywhere (in the USA) in the late 60′s and before.

I was sitting in my car at the Burger King at Craycroft/Grant eating a fast lunch listening to CONSERVATIVE RADIO while I ate a fast lunch. (Just had to throw that detail in!)
I heard it. It was like a lightning strike very close. I knew it was not storming but I had just seen the Thunderbirds practising over DMAFB. I figured that the pilot wasnt watching his Mach meter inside the cockpit. When they do those formations in a show they can be close to the speed of sound. I figured that there would be some broken windows. Nobody got hurt and the glass companies will make some good profits this week. Good for the economy. It’s not like the pilot was doing something wrong or showing off. Just a normal show.

I happened to be one a the lucky ones .I was in my car with the door open and my feet outside, getting change for vending machine.Yellow flash and loud boom sounded like something blew up every car alarm in the parking lot went off Babies and children were all screaming and crying went back in to work and it had blown out the light bulbs . I was in Mid town shopping parking lot speedway n craycroft it was right over my head .I was like geez God what was that.

I didn’t exactly liked with all that desert why over the city? I live in the Speedway/ Craycroft area and it shook paintings of my wall, the whole house shook…not happy
