It is a realistic coming of age story of an American teen torn between divorced parents & blended families. Ellis has an overly dependent dysfunctional mother, so he begins to cautiously connect with his absentee father, new step mother & new half brother. But Ellis is emotionally wounded and cannot connect with a love interest at his prep school. Goat Man is a sympathetic friend of his mother’s and the fellow who tried to “father” this young man to adulthood, but he has his own weaknesses & poverty to deal with. About 60/70 people there to watch it tonight, including local videographer Dan Buckley who was an extra in the film. KVOA Channel 4 interviewed my husband prior to the movie, who had no idea about this film but was moved & saddened by the loneliness portrayed by this young teen.
