Over 50 people turned out to listen to the 7 confirmed candidates, plus 3 more: Board chair Miguel Cuevas, John Hunnicutt, Robert Medler. After introductions the candidates all answered 5 questions from the audience: how address failing high schooler problem, the $17 M projected budget shortfall, what have they personally accomplished or hope to accomplish after 4 years on the board, is early intervention needed for undiagnosed dyslexia problems, and what level of importance to place on working with teachers & support professionals at the schools? Then there was time for a 1 minute closing statement by all 10 candidates. Stay tuned for next week’s forum at Drinking Liberally on Sept. 26.

You are correct, it’s seven. I understand there will be one on the 1st, however, I may attend this one as well. This is much to important.

Actually it’s 7 who have confirmed their attendance at this forum. The October 1st forum will be at the YWCA on Bonita Ave., and the one on Oct. 10 is at Tucson Estates, which may be more convenient for you.

Well that fact that only these 6 chose to confirm narrows the number of people to select. There is one on the list that already has my vote Betts Putnam-Hidalgo, a possible 2nd is Ralph Ellinwood. It’s a long drive from Midvale to OST/Camino Seco, but I’ll try to make it.
