Zuzi Dance Company’s “Blood & Gold” inspired by life of Frida Kahlo

by on Sep. 24, 2012, under Arts, Life

Mexican painter Frida Kahlo is an icon in Tucson, Arizona. A recent photo show at the Tucson Museum of Art chronicled her life with famous Mexican muralist/painter husband Diego Rivera, as well as her affair with the photographer of that show, Nicholas Muray. There are many artists in town who create decorative art around images of Frida Kahlo — in paintings, collages, wooden boxes, jewelry, etc.
