Since we are still fighting a war in Afghanistan, this is a timely event promoting peace. I hear that The Raging Grannies will be singing their usual (and unusual) peace songs, and there will be music by Earth Spirit, Juan De Bisbee, Baba Marimba, The Caballeros, and other local talents.

There is a MUCH better Event happening in Phoenix on the same day. It’s “The Day Of Resistance Rally”, in support of our Constitutional Rights and Freedoms.

Thanks for the information Charles. Where is this event happening in Phoenix?

Peace fair today at Reid Park, just heard lively group “One Heart Beat” followed by Earth Spirit drum circle (from “Idle No More” Native American/Canadian movement). Usual booths there: Sustainable Tucson, Global Arts Project, Veterans for Peace, Jobs for Justice, Culture of Peace Alliance, Sierra Club, etc. Fair goes on to 5 p.m. today.

I went to the Peace Fair. My greyhound wore a red cape with signs that said “Close Tucson Greyhound Park.” I was also trying to get signatures for Steve Kozachik’s re-election. Two people came up to me and asked to sign the clipboard, they thought I had a petition to close TGP – Great idea! It was a good vibe. Saw my friends at SPEAK and picked up a few brochures. I think I will try the free meditation seminar. I must learn to meditate; I need more sanity and peacefulness in my life. Oh, yeah, I met the guy who does the TC blog – Free Thought. He was younger than he sounds, not a bad thing.

No one was at the Free Thought booth when I was there, but I did go to one of their lectures months ago. Sorry I missed you & your greyhound. Busy day at the Peace Fair.
